House Whip Sends Bible To Every Hill Office For 'Decision-Making' Guidance

http://talkingpointsmemo.com/dc/steven-palazzo-sends-bibles-to-every-hill-office

A Republican congressman recently sent a copy of the Holy Bible to every member of Congress "to help guide you in your decision-making," according to a letter obtained by TPM.

Rep. Steven Palazzo (R-MS) enclosed the Bible in his letter dated July 29 and sent to all House and Senate offices. The letter, written on an official letterhead in his capacity as assistant majority whip, was confirmed by Capitol Hill aides whose offices received it.

"On a daily basis, we contemplate policy decisions that impact America's future. Our staffs provide us with policy memos, statistics, and recommendations that help us make informed decisions. However, I find that the best advice comes through meditating on God's Word," Palazzo wrote.

Yes. The Bible is such a valuable tool to tell us who to stone, who to put to death, and who to generally hate and repress. Thank you, Rep. Palazzo for trying to impose your religious beliefs and your desire for American theocracy on you colleagues.

This man is on the House Armed Services Committe, the House Committee on Homeland Security, and most ironically the House Science, Space and Technology Committee. Because the Bible has a wealth of scientific knowledge and showed us how to build rockets and the internet.

Sorry, but no nutcase of this order would ever rise to a leadership position if the Democrats (and Nancy Pelosi) held the majority in the House.

We are in serious trouble, folks.

Ask bronze-age desert dwelllers or cultists hiding in catacombs for help on policy. Makes perfect sense

Oh, yeah. God wrote the bible. Himself. With his own two (invisible) hands.

It looks like Raw Story moderates their comments. They were all jumping on this guy. Usually comments sections devolve into hate fests.

11. Joshua commanded the earth to stand still

"O sun, stand still at Gibeon, And O moon in the valley of Aijalon." 13So the sun stood still, and the moon stopped, Until the nation avenged themselves of their enemies. Is it not written in the book of Jashar? And the sun stopped in the middle of the sky and did not hasten to go down for about a whole day. 14There was no day like that before it or after it, when the LORD listened to the voice of a man; for the LORD fought for Israel"

Now, I hope he meditates on that as sits in those House Science, Space and Tech Committee meetings.

I just did a quick look, and the House includes/included last year roughly 22 Jews, 2 Muslims, 1 Hindu, 2 Buddhists, 8 Mormons, plus others for whom everyone understands, including Palazzo, this was very disrespectful and obnoxious behavior.
