2016 Postmortem
Related: About this forumREV AL on RACHEL
Wow. Another leader for peace in our time. I didn't know how deep his character runs. He's amazing. He is one of the good guys - timeless; right up there with MLK, Pres. Obama, Gandhi. Seriously.
Did anyone else hear him just now?

(21,115 posts)when he speaks off the cuff he is simply amazing. He an excellent communicator....I suspect that he is dyslexic and thus why he stumbles with some words ....though he has improved dramatically in the past year or so.....
But Rev Al...he is the real deal. And talk about self control.....he lost all that weight becoming a vegetarian that eats one meal a day.
Also, Al has 2 kinds of suits....his all business suit....and his proverbial track suits!

(3,580 posts)I remember rev al from back in the day. He has grown into his leadership.
This homicide of Brown makes me sick. By all accounts from eye witnesses and people that knew him, he wasn't someone who looked for trouble. The police can't even come up with a coherent lie. The police reaction to protest is stunning when contrasted with how they react to white men who are actually armed.

It's lynching, by any other name. Sorry to be so frank. And I think there's an unstated purpose to intimidate Pres. Obama, and any other Black American who thought we'd turned the corner here on racism, with his election.
And I agree about Rev. Al and the telepromter. He speaks from the heart!
