Related: About this forumSt. Paul Police assault/arrest this calm respectful Black man waiting for his kids. It's an epidemic
Irrespective of socio-economic circumstance, dress, demeanor, or displayed respect, or civility, to many Americans and police this face is that of a suspect with no civil rights.

(53,843 posts)and immediately escalated the situation by saying the black man was about to go to jail. This was obviously a reaction to a black man having the temerity to challenge his authority, even though he wasn't doing anything wrong, just trying to reason with him.
Then it seems the white female officer became emboldened (I guess because the white male cop came up) and began raising her voice at the "not doing-anything-but-waiting-on-his-kids-suspect" and preceding with assisting with the assault and arrest of the black man.
The racism in the country is becoming worst as it is more out in the open now and cops seem to be at the heart of the problem. Many seem to have no respect for African Americans' rights at all. Seems we're back in 1857 and the Dread Scott case when Supreme Court Chief Justice Roger Taney declared in a court opinion that African-Americans had no rights which the white man was bound to respect.
Seems the decades long, repeated, hatred-filled and racist repug talking points on FOX and Limpbutt's show have taken us back to not just the last century but two centuries ago.
It's become really stifling for black men, and this was as far away from the south as you can get.
Latinos and women and progressive white men and gays you have to know when they get through with us they're coming after you unless we all form a strong wall of unity and protest against this now blatant racism.

(2,584 posts)Looks like we have to fight the Civil War, all over again. Only this time, the bigots are trying to oppress a bigger segment of our population.
Somehow, we really need to get the people who are duped by the bigots' messages to see that injustice really does hurt us all.

(6,292 posts)it is not a mystery, pretty darn clear.
As I have said before, with what they are doing to President Obama, we can expect them to show rape porn on the kiddie channels if a woman ever makes it to the presidency.
I am so over the first amendment unless hate speech is denied public airwaves.
