We will be the laughing stock of the country if we do not help Democrats win the Senate in 2014

Most of our voters do not vote in mid-terms and that is going to be our downfall for a long long time. Pure and simple! Sorry if this truth hurts our ego. That is why we get what we are getting.

Remember how Florida has treated our supporters. Guess what, the governor that did to all of us is going to win, thanks to apathy.

In Colorado and Iowa, our friends are unhappy about postponement of executive order by a few months (so that an executive order, which honestly, will not stand a chance in court), will survive later. It will survive only if there is not enough push for a lawsuit. Are our supporters so naive. Obama Executive Order will not stand a chance in Supreme Court. Hispanic leaders, please note! We are on the verge of losing both states, believe me. That nutcase Joni is winning big.

Many Obama voters in Iowa are apathetic (as in other places)

Looking at the big picture, Obama has been ridiculed and disrespected by everyone and we, yes his supporters, have not done enough to help him. Turning over to Tea Partiers and playing defense is not doing us or our President any favor. Obama is not a king. He needs the Congress. Thanks to our apathy, we have not voted during mid-terms, and this has assured a weak President. He hands are tied. To earn respect, we have to demand it and we have not done much when the President is ridiculed.

Please do all you can to help our President and ignore media bullshit and misplaced anger from Obama voters. He is doing his very best to wade through the mess our voters, yes we Obama supporters, have created during mid-terms because of apathy as Tea Partiers have been steadfast through it all.

Tea Party and GOP stands with their candidates thick and thin. We don't. Shame on us!

Voting for republicans who hate them is the way to get immigration reform. Not voting is the equivalent of voting for republicans. Talk about upside down world.

It was about the district maher is trying to flip and yes it was an exercise in the stupidity of people who will vote for an individual they can't even name. An individual who does not support their ideals.
It's a coup for the corporate media who pushes this meme 24/7.
Until we stop allowing the corporate media to lie for these people it's not going to change.

have been mixed between Democrats and republicans. Because of the tea party take over of the republican party, you are correct, many Hispanic Americans moved toward the Democrats, however, when the President decided not to pursue immigration until after the election, that may have upset that demographic. It is similar to when Jimmy Carter deregulated the airline industry, labor turned against the Democrats and voted for Reagan, even though historically at least since Roosevelt the Democrats have always been for labor. They voted against their own interests.

American Hispanics are also a diverse group. Cuban Americans in Florida have always favored republicans. In addition, many American Hispanics are divided on a women's right to choose, and that slanted their favor toward republicans verses Democrats, but since the republicans have come out in force in a "war against immigrants", that started the shift toward the Democratic party. The question is will they realize that the President delaying immigration until after the election was because he thought it would give the Democrats a better chance to retain the Senate? If they believe that, then we should win in the critical states such a Florida if they GOTV

What I do not understand is how ANY Hispanic could vote republican.
The republicans HATE Hispanics. If they could get rid of them all they would.
After the summer of blocking buses of children that whole hate on display I will never understand how that is interpreted as wanting immigration reform. The republican contempt for these folks is palpable.

It's not uncommon for the president's party during the middle of the president's second term to suffer at the ballot box. Even Reagan, who was very popular in 1986, suffered a drubbing in the midterms that year as Democrats gained eight seats and took control of the Senate. The problem is, that once a president is re-elected, they become more and more of a "lameduck", simply because they can't run for re-election, and the powers that be are already starting to plan for when the current president is no longer around. Also, by the sixth year, your opponents will be very united and more determined than ever to undermine the president, while on the other side, many of the president's allies' support will have decreased because chances are by then he'll have pissed off some of the key factions who helped him get elected. His failure to deliver on certain promises do come back to haunt you.

after they take the Senate is that they will start passing legislation again and legislation that's not going to benefit "we the people" but they will stand up and SHOUT "see we're the party that can get things done!" The American public that remains apathetic won't notice that it's legislation against their best interests, but will probably agree with them. They will only see that something is getting done, won't be interested enough to find out what the facts are or who was responsible for taking away more of their rights, and many will just assume it was because Obama didn't DO ANYTHING!

Just like they think it was Obama who signed the agreement to remove the military from Iraq, when it was actually Bush who signed that agreement before he left office. Of course the Repukes will be jubilant because they are very effective in making sure their lies are actually believed as facts. But we all must realize that our own Democratic Party doesn't seem to know how to fight fire with fire!

I could spew so many adjectives about each party right now but it's useless. The money to spread the word is what it's all about! AND IT'S ABOUT PEOPLE NOT EVEN CARING ENOUGH TO VOTE!

I'm more than frustrated, talk to too many people who simply don't want to hear about politics, facts OR what may happen. I get it all the time... they tell me to "get a life!" We just have so long to live, enjoy the time I have yatty, yatty, yatty! It's happened so many times that when I walk away and get alone I just have to have a good cry, SERIOUSLY! People I know and are my friends, some of my own family constantly berate me because they say I'm ruining my health and nothing is going to change anyway.

So much of the time I feel so alone and lost. Plus I live in a very Red district in FL where our local Democratic Party seems to lean to the right. Even the state Democratic Party seems to be doing very little to help Charlie Crist get elected and get rid of Rick Scott! Wish I felt better about this election, would LOVE to admit my fears are WRONG and the polls are full of crap, but other than the Cantor race, I've seen very few polls that are that far off!

Looks like Scott's going to win, Scott Walker too. And of course the Senate races seem to be getting even worse for Democrats. Well, I have tried, best I can say!

There is a LONG time before the elections.

slide. What makes YOU think I'm not doing anything to GOTV?? I've written countless posts here about what I've found and run into while trying GOTV!

One of the worst comments I first heard was, "Oh, I didn't know there was an election in November!" Then, many Democrats who I feel simply DON'T GET IT say really stupid stuff like "how can WE trust Crist, he was a Repuke who turned Democrat just to win an election!" My very own sister, a die hard Democrat whose husband worked all his life in IL as a Union member for the Steel Mills says she's not sure she can vote for him. They moved here 22 years ago and was here when Crist was Governor before. I didn't vote for him back then but I do have to admit he was more moderate than I expected. I do try to pass this information along to others who will TAKE TIME to listen.

He then decided to run for Senator but because his relationship with "Jebby" deteriorated "Jebby" hand picked his Boy WonderMarco Rubio and guess who got elected?? The behind the scenes story of Crist and the Repuke party has more to it. Crist then ran as an Independent and even though the DEMOCRATIC candidate KENDRICK MEEK was polling in single digits many, many DEMOCRATS called those of us who voted for Crist what amounted to "turn coats." It was quite clear MEEK would never win, he had extra negative baggage dragging him down too!

I've walked many miles knocking on doors, worked phones and have been active in this Rich, Super Red county where I can't recall any Democrat making it to the House of Representatives since I've lived here. Can't tell you how many yard signs I've paid for and had stolen! So I usually paint my signs on 4' x 3' piece of wood that are secured enough so it makes them harder to steal. My 2 chocolate labs will bark before they can remove it, not so much with flimsy yard signs.

I'm assuming by your name you live in Maine and maybe it's different up there. I'm aware Olympia Snow is a Senator there and
that she's endorsed Scott Brown for Senator in NH even though he hasn't lived there long! Sorry, don't know if MA is considered Red or Blue, but FL IS mixed mainly because Miami/Dade county is large and votes Democratic. Perhaps that's a bright spot, but Scott has $$$$$ and flooding everywhere with ads and it's neck and neck or Governor! Rick Scott's approval rating was at 27% last I heard, but guess not.

As for donating money, I'm not one of the "rich" who live here and my donations have been limited, even though I get email after email every single day asking for money. Just not able to spare extra money.

Just one more comment, maybe you could check out what Nina Turner, OH has said recently about that state, basically saying that the GOP has taken over the state and Kasich will win because the Democrats picked a really bad candidate to run against him. She's running for SOS there and I'm sure she's pretty devastated herself.

So yes, I'm just not thinking very positive thoughts... don't use the word "hope" but it would be WONDERFUL if all I'm seeing will prove me completely wrong. Long post, but had a few points to make.

I have to agree with ChiciB1 that we really are shooting ourselves by misplaced anger and foolishness. I feel your pain.

To be frank, if all Obama voters from 2012 vote, we will not lose Iowa and Colorado (or Florida Gov race). But, guess what? We are in trouble.

I have felt this pain in 1994 and 2010. I have seen so many our voters sitting out while Tea Party is rabid. I have to salute the GOP. Their supporters need no cajoling.

If the Florida race does not go Crist, I will feel that African-Americans, who were denied access by the current governor, just did not turn out! Pure and simple. Do not blame anyone.

If our voters keep tuning out in mid-terms, change will not happen. Ultimately, Democrats will have to turn farther right because we are not reliable.

I am with ChiciB1!

We complain Obama did not do this and that! But, hello, we screwed Obama in 2010 and we are doing it to him again! GOP shut down the government and they win more. Very bad message and we liberals are in trouble if we sit out.

who understands what we are facing. I too recall 1994 and 2010 and Democrats really have done a poor job of voting in off year elections. IT IS up to us to be informed AND to VOTE, but as I said Democrats just don't do a good job or don't pay attention to the consequences if the Senate is lost.

I constantly fear The Supreme Court more than ever given the apparent over reach going on. Bad enough not voting, but not even thinking about what's at stake with this Court should be a huge red flag! Ginsberg isn't going to last forever, what happens if she should die due to her age or contracting a debilitating illness?? They've already made some really horrible decisions that have given more power to those who shouldn't have it. Scalia seems to think he's some sort of King and his evident support of the right wing should be against the law. This subject opens another can of worms for me.

At any rate, we DO know Repukes DO VOTE for Repukes when the chips are down. I'm pretty liberal and don't like to compromise my principles, but until something else comes along there are times I do feel a need to vote for someone when my heart isn't in it.

Enough said.
