Report: Secret Service Agent Leaked Obama Locations To Romney Campaign In 2012

TPM: Report: Secret Service Agent Leaked Obama Locations To Romney Campaign In 2012

The report, from the website Inside Sources, cites two Romney staffers "who witnessed the events in question." The sources told Inside Sources that the married-Secret Service agent, who was not identified, was motivated by his flirtation with the female staffer to disclose the information and on a separate occasion gave joy rides in Secret Service cars with lights flashing. This all happened in a key battleground state in October 2012, according to the report.

Inside Sources reported that the schedule provided by the agent was received with skepticism by the Romney campaign but it was eventually proven to have been accurate.

The Inside Sources item came the same week that The Washington Post has been publishing reports on new details about Omar Gonzalez, the White House fence jumper who made it deep into the presidential mansion despite official reports that he had not. As a result of those reports, Julia Pierson stepped down as head of the United States Secret Service.

The praetorian guard is not doing well.

to arrange something. If you know what I mean. Edit to add: we are just lucky to still have our President. Because his protectors appear to be either idiots or dangerously subversive.

Or I guess you could say the "lack" of charter. This guy is self worshipping fool who thinks he is entitled to the office of president. If he had won in 2012 he would have sold off the entire country to his rich friends, and we would be in such a mess now none of us would be able to make a living. He is simply bad for this country.

The man is a complete asshole; an egotistical, psychotic, sleazebag, piece of white trash!!!
There is nothing good or redeeming about him.
Nothing whatsoever!

Mitt didn't even compose a conciliation speech until after he realized that he had lost the presidential election, that very night!!
That speaks volumes about Mitt, and his totally misguided religious belief system!

If someone would have told Mitt earlier that year that it would guarantee that he would win the 2012 election and become the next President of the United States if only he would cut his hair and start using a Mohawk style haircut, start wearing his underwear on the outside of his pants, call everyone on the podium "dude" instead of using their names at all of the political campaign stops he makes, and always, always include saying "Au revoir, Monsieur Obama" and then flip off the tv camera at the end of all of his campaign speeches . . he would have done all of that in a New York minute.

That's how bad Mitt wanted to be the President of the United States!!!

tell the President about the guy in the elevator with a gun until the media was about to break the story.

The President has been more than patient with the Secret Service.

...I always thought the SS were some of the coolest people on the planet and deserved more respect than most other "law enforcement" types. As a child, I idolized them. As an adult, envied them a bit. All of this is not only freaking me the fuck out, but breaks my heart. Like finding out Superman's cape is made of polyester.

A new agency should be formed and the current members shuffled off to other agencies for security work.

Start from scratch with a new, well vetted workforce.

Until someone comes along and offers the private contractor more money to kill the President.

Se, the magic of the free market dictates that if it is more profitable to kill the President than to protect him, that is what is going to happen. Nothing personal; it's just business. The free market is infallible, and works for the benefit of all...

Nice post, Ayn Rand...

For treason, dereliction of duty, breach of contract, whatever, and put him behind bars for 20 years without parole.

Maybe THAT will get the message across that Secret Service agents should either take their jobs seriously or not take them at all.
