Gov. Walker’s nightmare got worse as he was asked about abortion. Walker tried to massage his harsh anti-woman abortion laws. Burke rocked Walker for passing legislation that gets in the way of women’s health care decision. She drilled Walker for cutting funding for women’s health clinics, and championing laws that harm a woman’s right to choose. Burke came back at Walker for trying to have it both ways, and she said that his position is extreme, and he opposes abortion in all cases.

Vote 2014! Do It!

I was a little disappointed that the moderator didn't live up to her promise to not tolerate answers that didn't address the question. Walker's answers rarely did and he was never called on it. He just rattled off talking points. It's not like he could honestly answer anything so what else does he have? Burke's answers did address the questions and the answers were reasonable.

Of course that makes little difference to the "decided" republican voters.

Another bright spot was that the panel's questions were pretty good. None of the "Hey look at me, i just nailed someone with a gotcha question!" stuff. I hope they continue that in the second debate. Even if Walker just continues to evade, which he will, maybe some of the undecided voters who actually watch will finally notice.

He just repeated things as his programing dictates.

I thought the questions need to be more aggressive. I do realized that is because I want to see Walker called out on specifics. Not a good way for Mary Burke to shine. This worked out better.

His AG is still trying to reinstate voter id

I'm sorry but I do not trust any GOP, none. I'm one that believes shady stuff happened in the re-call elections.

Nothing fazes Walker, he just picks up where he left off lying to whatever the question is. He's a lying machine. She needs to be more forceful and direct and really say the words 'you are lying' and then back it up with the facts. If she doesn't she won't score enough points to knock him out.
