The billionaire political kingmakers planning to bankroll much of the 2016 presidential campaign spoke out together Sunday with blunt warnings on key issues for their respective parties.
Haim Saban, a media mogul and close Democratic ally of Hillary Rodham Clinton, criticized President Obamas outreach to Iran, declaring that weve shown too many carrots and a very small stick.
Sheldon Adelson, a casino magnate who is likely to tap into his fortune in an effort to elect a Republican to the White House, upbraided many in the GOP for their opposition to legalizing millions of undocumented immigrants. Without a comprehensive overhaul, he said, the country would not be the America that Im proud to live in.

I wish that Jeff Bezos hadnt bought The Washington Post, Saban said, referencing the Amazon.com founder who purchased The Post a year ago. For $250 million bupkis he stole it.
Adelson countered, Why dont you and I go after the New York Times? Saban said that he has tried over and over to buy it but that the family-owned Times is not for sale. Adelson quipped, There is only one way to fight it: money.

(503 posts)Growing up I used to watch a lot of the Japanese anime translations released through Saban Entertainment on home video/DVD.
Maple Town, The Noozles and Power Rangers were a few of my favorites. Complete list of all Saban properties (many of which are now Disney materials, no surprise) here:

Haim Saban, Shuki Levy and Jean Chalopin (French producer of now-defunct DiC Studios, former affiliate of Saban Entertainment and the man behind Inspector Gadget and The Heathcliff Show) were listed on the credits of practically everything I loved as a kid.
I believe the "I'm a one issue guy" quote is attribute to him, not Adelson. Saban sounds like he's a rabidly nationalist Spielberg. So sad. Childhood ruined.
