Gordon Klingenschmitt, GOP’s newest lawmaker, suggests Obama is possessed by demons

Gordon Klingenschmitt, a newly elected Republican state lawmaker for one of Colorado’s most conservative districts, says President Obama might very well be possessed by demons, needful of exorcism.

He has actually written a book about the matter — a 2012 tome titled “The Demons of Barack H. Obama: How the Gift of Discerning of Spirits Reveals Unseen Forces Influencing American Politics,” Mediaite reported.

Gordon Klingenschmitt, the newly elected state House representative for southeastern Colorado Springs, said he notified security at the Capitol that he received death threats this year that are under investigation.

"I'm concerned, and I'm taking it seriously," Klingenschmitt said Thursday at the Capitol before orientation began for new lawmakers. "I'm not afraid, and I'm not worried. I'm in God's hands ultimately."

Klingenschmitt, who defeated Lois Fornander in the House District 15 race Tuesday, said he met Wednesday with Colorado State Patrol officers at the Capitol about several emails and one disturbing phone call he received.

In October, The Gazette reported that Klingenschmitt refused to meet with members of the lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender community until after the November election - and only if everyone first went through a background check at their expense. His email to the community members included a video clip of anti-gay activist Anita Bryant getting hit in the face with a pie in the '70s. Klingenschmitt said earlier death threats prompted that response.
