We need to take the money out of politics, on both sides. Until we do, our votes are bought and paid for, even in blue states. I think outside groups spent 8 mill to reelect Gov Dan Malloy in CT and about 7 mill to elect challenger Tom Foley.

Disgusting.

"I think outside groups spent 8 mill to reelect Gov Dan Malloy in CT and about 7 mill to elect challenger Tom Foley."

This means they spent 8 mill to try to reelect Malloy and 7 mill to try to elect Foley.
