Where are the young Democratic leaders?

Yes, I support Hillary. Yet, on election day 2016 she will be 69. Biden will be 74. Warren will be 67 and Sanders will be 75. Even Jim Webb will be 70. Brian Schweitze - a very long odd - is the youngest at 61.

Even beyond 2016, in 2020, where are the younger leaders waiting in the wing?

On the other side, Rubio is 43, as is Bobby Jindal. Rand Paul is 52 and even Jeb Bush is 62.

It is not just "if not Hillary when who," it is about the future leadership of the Democratic party. Who, Amy Klobuchar?

as CA AG she at least has executive experience.

Gillibrand, too, has experience as a lawyer, I don't know about executive experience, though.

11. It will be a long time, if ever, when either of the parties will nominate a sitting senator

with no executive experience.

This does not mean that the above senators do not have any. And by executive experience I mean running a multi function organization, preparing and operating on a budget, hiring competent staff, making sure that all departments operate according to strategic plans, and being constantly updated. Also being able to articulate the goals and accomplishments of the organization.

Obama did not succeed in being an efficient executive. The fact that he and the Democratic congress achieved a lot, yet, so many candidates wanted to distance themselves from him last November show that something did not come through in the translation.

12. People with leadership potential are not waiting in the wings, they are busy leading....

Of the 10 oldest Senators, 7 are Republicans.
Jeff Merkley, Cory Booker, Chris Murphy, Brian Schatz, Martin Heinrich, Tammy Baldwin, Micheal Bennett. Maria Cantwell, Tim Kaine, Gary Peters, Amy Klobuchar, Chris Coons, Jeff is the oldest of those at 58. Chris Murphy the youngest at 41. There are 7 other Democratic Senators who are younger than Jeb Bush.

That's just the Senate. In the House there are more and at the State level lots of great talent like Kamala Harris and too many people in too many States to mention. I love Oregon Oregon Sec of State Kate Brown who is, as it turns out and since this is the freaking subject, 54. She's great.

Marco Rubio? Bobby Jindal? Lots of people are 43 who have way more chance of being President than either of those buffoons.

Lots of good potential statewide officeholders lose in disastrous midterm elections and those who win don't get the opportunity to distinguish themselves, as the President is the leader of the party.
