Barbara Boxer Delivers The Most Crushing Blow To The GOP Ever

http://www.addictinginfo.org/2015/02/25/barbara-boxer-slams-republicans/

Video of the nearly twenty minute speech at link.

“I thought they were the party of ‘family values.’ Show me where that’s true? Ripping families apart? I thought they were the party of ‘economic prosperity.’ Show me how that’s true, when we know from study after study that one of the greatest things we can do for our economy and job creation is get people out of the shadows so they can go buy a home and hold a good job. They (Republicans) can’t or won’t pass an immigration bill. They will not do their job. So when the president steps in and does his job, they say, ‘Oh, this is terrible! Let’s shutdown a totally unrelated department. The Department of Homeland Security.”

...

“So I say to my Republican friends. There’s s presidential race coming. Forget this last one. Get over it. Okay? Let’s work together. Listen, I served with five presidents. I’m a strong Democrat. Everyone will tell you that. But I respect the office of the presidency. If I didn’t agree with Ronald Reagan, I came down here and said it. But we had the respect back and forth. If we lost, we lost. And we moved on. And that worked both ways. I know what it is not to like the policies of a president. I get it. But don’t overdue it and make it so personal. Get on with it. Grow up. Do your job, you know? Do your job! Have respect for the office of the presidency. Don’t suddenly say executive orders are bad when the president you don’t like does it, but you don’t say one word when a Republican president does the same thing!“

then the terminator did.

I don't think Mrs. Boxer wants to be VP, she wants time for private work while she is still healthy & active.

She is one of those privileged folks who always have had fawning media and handlers around to make sure there is no real unpleasantness. She will be eaten alive in the primary.

State AG Kamala Harris is pretty much inevitable as CA's next junior Senator. Don't believe the M$M-hype that Condoleeza Rice has a snowball's chance in the Palm Desert's sun in summer to win Senator Boxer's seat. NO. WAY.

As usual, someone in mass media may dare to rock the boat, but it is still clearly forbidden to mention that the ocean may well be on fire.

for The Great Irrelevant Giuliani to call the President a name and then have the media debate it to death, or Rand Paul to say something insane, and then the media ponder "Could he be RIGHT??"

Of how right they are. The more common sense shows that they're wrong, the more factual based studies show that they're wrong - it only emboldens them and gives them more "proof" that they're doing the "right" thing.

You may note that she didn't say they don't love America, or that they are lawless, or that they are tyrant kings, or hypocrites, or childish, or stupid, or hateful, or liars, or use vulgar swear words, or attack their masculinity, or corrupted by corporate money, or anti-democratic, or Fascist, or war-mongers. All-in-all, she was exceedingly nice.

How many speeches have we heard deliver a crushing blow to the right?...they just ignore it and continue on with actions, because they know words don't mean shit and actions do.

But if words is all you need then words is all you will get.

I totally agree. Actions AND words make the difference. That's always been true.

I also agree 100% in the words from the original post. We need to put them in action.

I liked what she said, but she was very civil about it, IMHO.
