Hillary Clinton will make a damned good president.

She is experienced, tough, and PROGRESSIVE. Many of those against her are also occasional Obama-bashers who say he is too far to the right. aka The Ultra Mega Left who think people like Sanders and Kucinich and Nader can actually win NATIONAL elections. Right off the beam.

Hillary will run. Hillary will most likely be nominated. Hillary currently dominates all polling. Hillary is PROGRESSIVE and PREPARED TO LEAD. Hillary will make a damned good president. Hillary has the overwhelming support of the Democratic Party, and this is Democratic Underground.

Bernie Sanders is a good guy who has many right ideas, but he is a proclaimed "Socialist" so a snowball would have a better chance of surviving in hell than he has of becoming president.

Anyone who would vote against Hillary or sit home if and when she's nominated might as well hold up a neon sign saying, "I'm working to help the Republican nominee win."

Those are the facts as they exist, at least on this planet.

Call Warren who readily admits to taking Wall Street money for her campaign fund. How many people in the 99% has the money to put up for a campaign?

Bernie runs to the weekend with lobbyists of tobacco, energy and oil. What do you call him?

Hillary has experience and has lots of foreign experience which will be needed. She has a big agenda, don't know how much will be accomplished but just some would be good.

It was almost 30 freaking years ago. She was the Governor's wife, but had little power. She used what little pull she had to work on environmental issues within the company.

Look at this picture:

DO you really think she was anything more than a symbol.

If Hillary is "progressive" then that term includes bloodthirsty warmongering and a BDSM-sub approach to Wall Street and K Street, at which point you can leave me out as I'm sticking with 'liberal' which is opposed to those things.

Adding war and financial abuse to liberalism is NOT an improvement.

I think it's going to be Jeb Bush vs Hillary Clinton. I feel that Clinton is the best choice out of all of them. I just hope this country isn't so stupid to elect another Bush.

However, it does not seem possible for a true progressive to get elected President. By definition, a person successful at running for President in this country now has to become so coopted by the wealthy and powerful to get there, that it either corrupts those that are successful (her husband) or it prevents those that give a damn (Obama) from being successful. The only plus for her is that she will have more social capital to openly support progressive causes because she cannot be racially exoticized like Obama, but will she use that leverage to push a progressive agenda? It isn't clear to me that she would at all. By the way, I totally agree about Sanders etc. I'm not saying there is a better alternative that can win, I'm just saying don't get your hopes up.

By definition, "true progressivism" is outside the mainstream of the body politic.

She needs to enter the race. Those batshit lunatics on the right are toughening each other up, and are yielding true contenders (Bush), against total no-chancers (Christie; Walker TBD).

She needs to start honing her skills for the big fight.

her ratings on Project vote smart

And this link is to a chart showing left/right inclinations based on voting record (scroll down)

It shows that HRC was well to the left of Kennedy when they both served in the senate.

Just because she has been involved with a few things that rankle hard core liberals should not detract from her years of support and votes for progressive causes.

Combine that with women's issues (where she has of course been unwavering) and you've used up most of her nominal progressiveness.
