Aaron Schock reimburses US for $40,000 Downton Abbey office remodel
Associated Press in Washington
Friday 27 February 2015 18.40 GMT
Illinois Republican representative Aaron Schock has personally reimbursed the government $40,000 for renovations to his congressional office, which was modeled after the TV show Downton Abbey.
Schock is under scrutiny for using an office expense account to pay for the redecorating, as well as taxpayer and campaign funds for flights on donor-owned planes and concert tickets.
Financial records obtained by the Associated Press show that Schock paid $35,000 earlier this month to the owner of the decorating firm, Euro Trash. He paid $5,000 more on Thursday.
The Washington Post was first to describe the office decorations. A watchdog group has requested a House ethics review of the congressmans spending.

Badass Liberal
(57 posts)1. My asshole Congressman
This district is so red, all I can hope for is a less corrupt extremist Republican, which I guess is a small improvement.
It sounds like this doesn't cover all of the recent revelations about his... "lavish" lifestyle.

There are more issues about the trips he and other took?
Who gave him him the money to reimburse the tax payers , if I seem skeptical it is because I am. These bastards think everything is owed to them because they serve, the problem is that they serve themselves first, then maybe the people who elected them.
