Stupid things I heard Republicans say in the past 24 hours:
#1 On C-SPANs Washington Journal call-in show, during a discussion of whether Loretta Lynch should be confirmed as the next Attorney General,
a woman caller on the Republican phone line said:
I know the Constitution, and its illegal for Obama to name someone who agrees with his policies to be Attorney General of the Supreme Court.
#2 During a House subcommittee (broadcast on C-SPAN) discussing the GOP budget plan to cut funding for social programs and education, a GOP Rep said:
The best way for Republicans to help the poor is to take away their food stamps. Then theyll go out and get a job and work for what they get."
#3 Another GOP Rep said:
There is nothing in the Constitution that says the federal government needs to pay for a childs education. That should be left up to the individual states, municipalities, and churches.
