Most have no idea of what Citizen’s United is...I mean most low informed voters probably think it’s an
organization to unite citizens...What could be bad about this?

the 200 Trillion dollar question.

Somehow I can't envision how this will turn out well without a major uprising. At the rate most Americans manage get "get it" things will be too far beyond reparable by the time they do something about it. I saw this coming back in early 2001, before 9/11 but I just couldn't get people to listen, they were all still enjoying the "glow" from Clinton's admin. which gave lots of people hope in the future while not having to keep watching over their shoulders on a moment by moment basis.

7. Republicans are planning legislation to set age limits to get rid of elected judges
Sun Apr 5, 2015, 12:45 PM
Apr 2015

Even though Chief Justice Shirley Abrahamson's term doesn't end until 2019, she would be forced to retire almost immediately after Walker signs the legislation, which is expected to be introduced during the current legislative session.

State Rep. Dean Knudson, R-Hudson, said he plans to introduce a bill in the upcoming legislative session setting the mandatory retirement age at 75. If passed by the Republican-run Legislature next year, all judges — except reserve or temporary judges — who are over 75 years old would have to retire immediately or within a matter of months.

Among them are three state Supreme Court justices: Chief Justice Shirley Abrahamson, 81, Justice Pat Roggensack, 74, and Justice N. Patrick Crooks, 76...

Such legislation would give Republican Gov. Scott Walker numerous opportunities to appoint judges to his liking to fill unexpired terms of judges and justices hitting the mandatory retirement age.

from his 1936 political novel, "It Can't Happen Here", or Huey Long. Mencken isn't far off. But wherever it originated it's an apt expression for these and earlier dangerous times.
