I mean Obama won Indiana in 2008 using the 50 state strategy! I believe Hillary can do the same & even pick up some southern states where the consensus in the south was 'I can't vote for a black President', this won't be an issue with Hillary and she is a native southerner....

Here we go again with the Hillary Clinton is going to win red states. Yes, she lived in Arkansas from 1974-1993 and was the first lady there. That doesn't mean she'll win the state. She's NOT a native southerner, she's from Illinois.

Beyond the "blue wall" of about 247 EV's, she'll have to fight in the other 8 states for the 100 EV's that are toss ups. Granted if she does well in the blue wall states she'll only need a few of the toss ups to win, but the chances of her winning Arkansas are extremely low.

I think Democrats will be motivated in 2016 anyway but I also think that the voters would be hyper-motivated if the DNC poured on the get out the vote starting now. They don't even have to be partisan, just urge people to vote and see just how high the voter turnout can get. That's the beauty of this strategy, the Right can't come out and say, "Hey, you shouldn't vote", or they would sound like even bigger morons. It's so simple that there is just no defense against it. Democrats can rail against voter ID laws and all the other modern poll tax strategies of the Right once they have the public's attention. They could introduce bills on the state and federal level that make it easier for people to vote that will get voted down by the Right further painting the GOP as anti-democratic. I just don't see a downside to this strategy but maybe I am being too Pollyanna about it. Can you think of a downside?

It would be great is some Democratic PAC ran commercial after commercial just making the case for voting and watch the Right go nuts. Make the commercials look like public awareness ads. Keep the partisan stuff out until the very end and then point out all that the Right has done to thwart voting over the past year.

voting ISN'T a party. There is nothing fuuuuuuuun about standing in line, filling out forms, etc. People do it because they know they should. Period.

Why isn't voting a party? Why shouldn't it be? People also don't do it in large numbers and they know that they should. My idea is to change attitudes like yours about the entire process. We win when large numbers of people vote. It just makes sense to promote the idea of voting.
