Anti-Obamacare Republican renounces ‘pigheaded’ GOP

The 49-year-old South Carolina man who garnered attention — and thousands of dollars in donations — after revealing his medical issues online is now supporting the Affordable Care Act and turning away from the GOP, Think Progress reported.

“Now that I’m looking at what each party represents, my wife and I are both saying, ‘Hey, we’re not Republicans!'” Luis Lang said, adding that he wants to rip his voting registration card up on national television to confirm his change of political affiliation.

It'd be pretty dumb not to run with it as a meme for the next few elections.

"You know what I realized, I'm simply not a Republican... And here's why:"

Our side is usually not good at capitalizing on these opportunities, while the Republicans excel at making things up. Here's a real live Joe the Plumber.

"A conservative is a liberal who's been mugged," which always infuriated me.

He's the poster boy for what you describe: a U.S. Senator whose voting record is strongly against LGBT rights, but then his son comes out to him as gay. Now he is, I think, the only Republican Senator who supports marriage equality.

Ah, well, a vote is a vote. We don't have to like these people or admire their intellectual integrity.

all rethuglicans are brain dead........at least these two used half of a brain and thought for themselves rather than follow the stupidity of their prior beliefs.......now let's see how far they go before they turn back to their old rethuglican thoughts and ways........

and that would be 90% of Americans.

While both parties are swimming in money that should be nowhere near politics, and special interests have far too much power, I'd still rather trust my future to the Democratic party.

It took him a great hardship to see why he needed affordable health care, but it is too bad other Republican voters cannot see the light.

I bet he got his insurance too on healthcare.gov because the donations are considered income. He made enough in donations to not need medicare or whatever his republican state considered for a "poor persons medical help"
