2016 Postmortem
Related: About this forumI am supporting Martin O'Malley for President.
On Saturday, Gov. O'Malley will make his announcement on his decision whether to run for President.
We all have our favorite candidates for a variety reasons.
All of these reasons are sound, because of where each of us has our political hearts.. so to speak.
Of course who ever finally wins the Democratic nomination has my full and unflinching support. Because Democrats get in there and get things done.
But I have to say ... I hope it is Gov. O'Malley.
Not because I think the Governor is a saint.. or perfect and can fix every issue with a wave of a wand.
But because he can get things done
That is what is important in the end.. the ability to get things done

(68,644 posts)White totally in the tank for Sanders and prying for Warren, O'Malley is a strong candidate and great alternative to business as usual.

(31,881 posts)I'd rather four or five smart people with varied experience in service to the community that is America - than a bunch cray cray trying to out hate each other.

(22,878 posts)The first impression I get is clown car... and when I look at our people starting to line up.. I see substance!!! I am very proud to be a Democrat..and very proud to be a member of the Democratic party..

(10,893 posts)the Democratic debates are going to outclass the GOP debates 10 times over. All they'll be doing over there is bastardize the "freedom" word some more and talk more about how much they hate Obama/Clinton/socialism/etc, while the D debates will be about real stuff happening to real people. The "herding cats" analogy is typically associated with D's, but time around, the GOP will be the ones trying to herd cats, judging from how deep yet diluted their field is and how viciously their candidates even attack each other.

(31,881 posts)I want to see a true exchange of ideas so that the person who is ultimately our candidate - is armed to the teeth with ideas and a way to get things done knowing they are going to have those assholes in the House to deal with. They need a strong show of support in November 2016 and stamp of approval from American.

(31,881 posts)Talk is cheap - I needed to see that evolution from community organizer/local politician to Governor (Executive) of a State to get excited about someone.
He's not perfect - none are - but I don't feel like this man is the least of the evils. I'm with him - and hope he makes it to June of next year so I can vote for him in the Primary!

(11,843 posts)Really, if all one does is post negative attacks against a candidate, how are they any different than a right wing troll?
Peacetrain
(22,878 posts)and going negative on everyone but the person that we personally feel a connection too just does not work out for the best.. People get caught in their positions and then cannot move out of them.. good and bad..
