Democrats Wage a National Fight Over Voter Rules

Democrats allied with Hillary Rodham Clinton and Bernie Sanders are mounting a nationwide legal battle 17 months before the 2016 presidential election, seeking to roll back Republican-enacted restrictions on voter access that Democrats say could, if unchallenged, prove decisive in a close campaign.

The court fights began last month with lawsuits filed in Ohio and Wisconsin, presidential battleground states whose governors are likely to run for the Republican nomination. Now, Democrats are attacking a host of measures, including voter identification requirements that they consider onerous, time restrictions imposed on early voting that they say could make it difficult to cast ballots the weekend before Election Day, and rules that could nullify ballots cast in the wrong precinct.

2. Where is the Bernie Sanders connection in this piece?

I don't doubt it's an issue for him but I'm missing the reference to him in the article. In fact, you inserted his name in the original text of the piece when you pasted it here.

not just the candidates themselves. Voter registration and cleaning up the voting process are concerns for us all.

10. Yes, especially because O'Malley has already done more for voting rights than the other candidates

Expanded Voting Rights
While other states around the nation push stricter voter ID laws designed to limit people’s ability to exercise the right to vote, Governor O’Malley made it easier to vote in Maryland by expanding early voting and same-day voter registration.

This isn't just talk, he already did it in Maryland. He instituted early voting, established online voter registration & same-day registration for early voters.

That is propaganda. This is NOT Fox News.

I count on and trust DU to be accurate in their news articles--I may not agree with the responses, but I always assumed they were not altered.
