Trailing Hillary Clinton by nearly 50 points in Democratic field, Sen. Sanders keeps focus on issues from wealth inequality to trade pact
KEENE, N.H. Bernie Sanders asks a lot of from his audience when he delivers a campaign speech.
Defying most rules of modern political rhetoric, he doesnt offer quips or disparage his Democratic rivals or use the platform to thank lists of friends and supporters.
The long-shot candidate for the Democratic presidential nomination, in a matter-of-fact tone, typically reels off dry statistics about the rich getting richer while the middle class gets poorer.
Yet Sen. Sanders, an independent from Vermont, is turning into a box-office draw. Running nearly 50 points behind Hillary Clinton in the Democratic field, he is attracting sizable crowds as he and his tiny entourage trundle through New Hampshire and Iowa delivering the dour message that America is at risk of morphing into an oligarchy dominated by wealthy families and powerful corporations.

(930 posts)Lesser of evils still gets you evil and at that point lesser is often debatable. It's absolutely refreshing that someone -Bernie- is taking on the bipartisan status quo that has run this country into the ditch. Voters at least will have a choice in changing the direction we have been on since Reagan--and the disease he spread to the democratic party.

problem..it has so many tentacles to it.

(23 posts)I mean what the heck has happened in the last few months? Bernie is older then Hilary. If he attempts to run the media will get on about his age. After his first term he will be nearly 80. No I think Hilary or a even younger candidate would be the best bet.
