2016 Postmortem
Related: About this forumBernie Sanders: “You can have the best president in the history of the world but.....
to be able to address the problems that we face unless there is a mass movement, a political revolution in this country, Sanders said. Right now, the only pieces of legislation that get to the floor of the House and Senate are sanctioned by big money, Wall Street, the pharmaceutical companies. ( end )**My commentary:
I believe this election and what Bernie stands for is not about a rebuke of the Obama policies,
per se, much more about the constraints within our corrupt system, one which includes Republicans,
we have a two party system...that is not going to change.
Fighting for CU to be over turned and then fighting for public funded elections neutralizes the lunatics the Republicans have become..it is a win win. Obama could not even wear a tan suit without listening to idiotic fake outrage..never mind receive cooperation from Republicans on the most benign legislation.
I have my differences with Obama, but this election is for me, about changing the system, I don't see any other
way to go, but full throttle with Bernie Sander.

Exactly. There is a great need for reform, we aren't going to get there with business as usual

(6,002 posts)6. Exactly. There is a great need for reform, we aren't going to get there with business as usual
candidates. It simply will not be. The biggest issue is end this oligarchy, let's return to rule of law for one and all, and end corporate "personhood". This too big to fail & too big to jail way of thinking is killing this nation.

(9,600 posts)8. This is why I like Bernie Sanders
He and his campaign bring to light issues and ideas that would not be seeing the light of day if he were not a candidate. Now if only the MSM would cover his message more openly.

who will remind them of their obligations over and over again is Bernie.
