Sanders would be dead by the end of the inauguration so that the PTB could have their center-right corporatist President.

What is Ms. Davis position on gay rights, though?

But, as TM99 pointed out, she probably isn't a great choice. She didn't do well in the last election and her voice was monoissue (I think I just made up that word) An incredibly important issue and a great voice. I need to research better about her voting record.

She did move people across the nation though. So if my research shows a great record, I will push for her

and one from the Congressional Progressive Caucus.

My bet and choices would be either Nydia Velazquez or Barbara Lee.

I do NOT see Julian Castro. I definitely don't see Wendy Davis.

Castro is already being floated by HRC so he is obviously Third Way. Wendy David did horribly in TX and outside abortion issues was not a very strong progressive candidate.

Velazquez & Lee are true progressives on all economic and social issues. Both voted against the Iraq War like Sanders.

Castro: Too Clintonite

Udall: Too uninspiring of a choice.

Tester: Too conservative.

Why don't you suggest Manchin so I can lose my Wheaties? I could use to lose a few pounds retching.

20% of Democrats already say they would never support a ticket with Sanders on it... if he gets the nom his VP pick would absolutely need to be someone relatively conservative.

I have no use for conservative Democrats, Clintonites, Corporatists, the DLC, 3rd Way or disenchanted Republicans.

If they can't bring themselves around to vote for a Democratic nominee running on Democratic values...they're not Democrats and I think we shouldn't be chasing their votes.

It requires cutting away dead weight and reestablishing your core identity. A Democrat that cannot bring themselves to support Democratic values...needs to feel like they don't belong in a party that espouses Democratic values.

Though I prefer the odd little New England truism of In for the punchbowl, in for the party.

The notion is the same in both cases. If you expect anybody to stand up for you...you'd better be prepared to do the same. This isn't a cafeteria; if you want to be a Democrat...you're expected to buy in on the platform. Otherwise...GTFO, as far as I am concerned. Don't like progressive economic values...you're not a Democrat then, in my eyes.

(The irony isn't lost on me that you've just flag-waved the same groups that the DLC advocated in the 1980s and early 1990s cutting loose the "special interests" of as impediments to Democratic Party electability. It's apparent when you know the history which one of us is on the side of the angels, so to speak.)

She's well-liked, moderate, has that same "I feel your pain" vibe that WJC has and she'd do a lot to draw back a lot of Clinton supporters who feel let-down by Hillary's loss.

It's kind of an anachronism from back in the time when the Electoral College actually did something other than ratify the state votes, but it's still there.

You already lose Bernie from the Senate, you can't afford to lose Warren or Brown or another good Senator.

Go for a prominent Representative or state level Dem.
