12 declared candidates; 4 more virtual certain = why isn't the media talking about the splintered GOP party?

Why is the media talking about the splintered GOP? Imagine if the Democrats had 16 candidates in the race - you know the media would focus on that without talking about any one candidate.

GOP RUNNING BUSH; CRUZ; PAUL; RUBIO; CARSON; FIORINA; HUCKABEE; SANTORUM; PATAKI; GRAHAM; PERRY; TRUMP

GOP PROBABLY RUNNING: WALKER, CHRISTIE, JINDAL (ANNOUNCING THIS WEEK), KASICH

ROMNEY SAYS NO BUT ACTS LIKE PROBABLY

Huh? Why not?

And we will not be seeing Romney next year. Not even he is crazy enough for this clown car. The fact that Trump is in, for the first time ever (in spite of multiple previous threats), speaks loudly of how crazy (and how useless) 2016 will be for GOP White House aspirations.

Now, we desperately need to take back the state houses and Congress. Holding the White House alone is not enough.

The media is in this for the money, honey. Right now, all those candidates are also must-watch TV, too.
If the media did not go after the big money (Dem) or scattered bags of money (GOP) it would be surprising. IMO.

The sane ones have been chased out. The nutz are running but they all say the same things?? yes/no?? They are all against gay marriage and abortion and out-gross each other in being against women's reproductive rights. They all are either quiet or support voter suppression. Jeb! did speak up for immigration reform. Not so the others. I am not a careful follower of the GOP clown car -- and I wonder what the differences are. They all seem bazaar to me. Maybe you just mean there are a lot of candidates and that is true, smile. Saw on the news tonight that over 300 people have filed to run for president. Guess it looks good on the resume! Couple of days ago saw something about the infighting between GOP and the K Bros. I will be interested in more on that.

It used to was that the primaries were for local people to run and then leaders gradually emerged and candidates actually were chosen at the conventions. Now the first few primaries seem to be really powerful in determining candidates.

Suspect Romney is like Palin was last time around, waiting to be chosen by acclimation without actually doing the work of running in primaries.

May we all keep our sanity in this madness!!

Headlines would be

"Republicans have SO MANY qualified candidates. Democrats only have 2 (and they're old)"

"Republicans accept a wide range of ideas from their candidates. Why do the Ds only give us a couple?"

"Republicans are the "big tent" party"

"No matter what your main issue is there's a R candidate you will like"

They've been in a cycle of bat-shit crazy for over 10 years now. There is no end in sight. They haven't mustered a unified platform since their mid-trem loss in 2006.

Now that would be fun and the ratings for the GOP convention would be off the roof.

I have a feeling that Christie won't run (although I could be VERY wrong and underestimating him). He seems to have too many issues and the field is so large already that it maybe too late (especially for him).

Kasich sounds like he is leaning toward running.

While I dislike Romney, I take him at his word he isn't going to run.

The final count will be 18 or 19. Also keep in mind you have to look at how many of those have actually filed the paperwork on the FEC website. Last I heard Trump had not. They have 180 to do so and they can get out right up until then.

I personally am rooting for 18 as I like even numbers.

Not to mention there's big fat profit in it for CNN and Fox talking heads.
