The Environment.. it is the most important issue of our time.. Candidates need to run on this hard

All things have to be addressed..no doubt..but if we do not protect our environment.. protect our potable water supplies.. everything else is worth naught..

Jobs, Health Insurance etc etc etc... if we do not address the protection of the environment that we live in and leave to our children and grandchildren.. what is it worth???

http://www.businessmirror.com.ph/us-supreme-court-deals-blow-to-obamas-emissions-cuts/

President Obama has worked so hard single handedly to try and keep protections in place..

The next President is going to face that same do nothing congress. buisness interests.. and a SCOTUS who would rather protect old money in fossil fuels than the people they are supposed to serve..

on to educate people.. I am not too proud.. You are right that it is money controlled industries who are lobbying non stop.. I am all about fighting fire with fire (meaning money with money) if it comes to that..

we can't rely on money. It has to be people.

But also getting our messages across on mass media.. those of us who meet in areas like this.. are fairly well educated in the needs.. but most people truly do not understand how dire the situation is.. and the you get things like the Koch brothers who are blanketing the air waves with how great Koch is.. the average person truly does not understand how important this issue is..

Edit to add.. and truthfully, even in areas like DU.. posts about the environment are few and far between..

Sometimes I wonder if our species has become so narrow in our focus, and attention span that only things that get people fighting are noticed..

I really do not understand exactly where these ass hats think they are going to live when the planet is toast and can no longer support life.

The coasts are hurting big time with environmental issues taking up land.. rising seas etc.. but those of us in the mid west are facing aquifer pollutions our source of water

Much less the air we breath which affect the water we drink because of pollutants coming down in the rain..

You are right.. where do they think we are going to live in the end..

as a country.. instead of going to battle with one another over how much toxins we can spew into the environment for jobs..

My life is winding down.. I am not a young person.. my biggest concerns now are for my son and nieces and nephews and everyone who is coming behind us.. They deserve better than what is going to be left to them
