The MSM is not a reflection of what is really going on in politics.

Someone reminded me of that here today.

It is often said that DU is not a reflection of what is really happening. I disagree.

In fact, it is the "common wisdom" foisted on us by the MSM that is not really a reflection of what is happening.

The same doubts and lack of trust and frankly, "sick to death of politicians" attitude seen here on DU is much more indicative of what is going on in the real America.

Yes, it is true that more here are supporters of hopeful candidates like Bernie Sanders than you are likely to see right at this moment outside DU. But that is because DU'ers are outliers, the first ones to educate themselves, the first ones to read the news.

What we must remember is that the MSM is a paid for creature of the rich, the corporate interests. It is their mouthpiece and what is said there is almost NEVER going to work against their ultimate interests. The revolution is NOT going to be televised.

Listen to each other, trust in the potential for change and do not let the message of "give it up, it will NEVER happen" convince you to not vote for the person you think is the best choice.

It is still up in the air and the truth is, there are far, far more voters in the 99% than there are in the 1%. Do not give up.

One thing about the economy as a major focus for Sanders is that 99% of us are all being fucked over. Republicans and Dems alike. If there happens to be an economic coalition, so be it. I have no problem getting some of the Republican 99%'res who finally realize how badly their futures are looking for them and their kids.

those are real obstacles.

And it will take some time for the truth to filter down through the bullshit meant to hide it from our eyes.

Hopefully it will get there. I think this is part of our movement, not the movement itself.

We will keep moving it forward. Bernie represents that happening, he is not the cause of it. Just the recipient.

I will note vote for the lesser of two evils.

Keep talking.

The differences are clear enough to most of us and real change is what is at stake as opposed to treading water while the tide comes in from the right.

6. Most people see through their BS individually. What they don't realize, is how MANY of us there are.

And that is where fatalism comes in.

People tend to give up when they think they are on a losing cause...

If they only realized how many of us are seeing through the BS and realized how MANY more votes we have, how many more voices, how POWERFUL we could be...

But that is the true purpose of the MSM, their final method... to divide, always divide.

The whole myth of the "middle class' was created to keep the 99% divided. Get the middle class to hold down the lower class while the 1% laughs, laughs, laughs.

Honestly, I think there is 1 candidate right now who will fight for that 99%. And it is not the power brokers that have been thrust upon us.

The whole "maybe those black churches all had bad wiring" thing just underscores their irrelevance.

That is the issue.

Hes doing a wonderful job speaking directly, no equivication, about what we SHOULD be as a country.

But, the stupid reigns king. The MSM is not the cause, it is the symptom.

Maybe a miracle happens and the stupid cant beat him, but even if he becomes POTUS, the stupid WILL saddle him with about 500, give ot take, at best worthless and as often as not mean spirited, right wing loyal congressmen and senators.

13. Speaking truth to the troglodytes sometimes seems a waste when
Thu Jul 2, 2015, 08:50 AM

They turn around and the flashy graphics on Faux Noize confirms their idiocy. BUT...
Their children often are more open to the information. I'm not attempting to change the minds of the entrenched on idiotic RW sites, I know how futile that is. But I do attempt to not allow them to completely drown out any voices of dissent. Children are listening.
By the time these kids get voting age the most dangerous plot I see of the MSM is to enforce the meme that your vote doesn't count, or doesn't change anything. That's seems these days to be the hardest thing to get through to younger citizens these days.
One of Fox New's affiliate RW propaganda sites got shut down by Fox due to rhetoric that became so inflammatory it scared even the Fox people into closing it down. I've noticed how they are attempting to soften their rhetoric lately as I surf by.
They are paying their own due by rabble rousing the well armed troglodyte population. I honestly wish one of these idiots that go postal would directly implicate Fox in their terrorism. Perhaps that would finally soak many of the thick skulls about the danger.
Meantime, all we can do is attempt to change hearts and minds one at a time.
In the case of SodaHead, one of Fox's sites that became insane, I saw the fruits of my attempts: The younger folks who started chiming in with the antediluvian idiots who echo all their propaganda recognized that those who spoke calmly, rationally and with scientific basis to their posts... later recognized just how idiotic the troglodytes they originally were giving the nod to behave. And that may have been the real reason Fox shut the whole thing down.
