Hillary Clinton, Ellen DeGeneres offer online support for gay child

Hillary Clinton and Ellen DeGeneres have come to the support of a young boy online, after he expressed fears for his future due to his homosexuality in a comment to a popular New York social media site.

"I'm homosexual and I'm afraid about what my future will be and that people won't like me," he is captioned as saying, alongside a photograph posted on Saturday to the Humans of New York Facebook page, which features photographs and quotes from people across the city.

Among an outpouring of supportive comments, two have stood out.

"Not only will people like you, they'll love you. I just heard of you and I love you already," stated a comment posted from the official account of The Ellen DeGeneres Show, a popular American talk show.

Presidential candidate Hillary Clinton also commented from her official account in a post tagged with her initial: "Prediction from a grown-up: Your future is going to be amazing. You will surprise yourself with what you're capable of and the incredible things you go on to do. Find the people who love and believe in you - there will be lots of them. –H."

I suspect this young man man feel the sting of and anti gay backlash. These knuckle dragges are the minority imho, but they are nasty and not ashamed to be vocal. The support that the rest of us can give is crucial.
