Martin O'Malley struggles to call attention to his policy proposals.Bloomberg: "...yet O'Malley is leading the battle of ideas in his field. He's the first candidate to release detailed policy proposals on key issues like climate change (he proposes to phase out fossil fuels by 2050), immigration (he advocates the most far-reaching executive actions any candidate has suggested to help undocumented people, whom he calls "New Americans" , cracking down on Wall Street (he'd break up big banks and tightening regulations) and making college debt-free for students."

(131,031 posts)Martin O'Malley isn't just talking about the problems and challenges facing America - he's offering substantive and detailed plans for resolving them. That's a reflection of how he conducted himself in public office in Maryland, beginning with his service as an assistant State's Attorney for the City of Baltimore in 1988 to 1990; serving on the a Baltimore City Councilor from 1991 to 1999 with the responsibility as Chairman of the Legislative Investigations Committee and Chairman of the Taxation and Finance Committee; two terms as Mayor of Baltimore: and two terms as Governor of his state of Maryland.
On almost every progressive issue that has gained prominence in this campaign, Martin O'Malley has led with concrete action in his state which is matched by solid plans and proposals in this campaign.

(11,495 posts)Because the media wants to make it a "war" between Hillary and Bernie. Here on DU it's the same way, post after post of Hillary vs Bernie, day in and day out. Many of them have no real substance when it comes to the issues, it's just trying to make one candidate look bad, and in my opinion, there is a lot of bashing posts meant to simply divide DU and keep things stirred up.
If a person is serious about wanting to know what each candidate's views on the issues are, they should be posting the "plans" that each candidate has to fix things, like those in the O'Malley group are doing. The only ones who really care about the bashing are the ones that want to divide the party.

(16,685 posts)Of arguing against gut level decisions with detailed policy proposals. What are the VALUES that cause him to support the policy that he does? That's what he should be talking about.

(46,416 posts)he's not a Clinton or Bush (royal family name recognition showdown!), isn't a loudmouthed billionaire celebrity clown, isn't notorious for pulling stupid stunts in the Senate, etc. He's just a slightly boring but serious guy with serious proposals who goes about shaking hands and discussing issues. Edit to add: I don't think the media takes Bernie all that seriously, either--I've seen him equated with Trump, for god's sake.
