(9,086 posts)Protesters: Stop shooting us!
Bernie: Yes I will lower the unemployment rate!
huh?
To keep it simple just explain your plan to have cops and courts stop acting like black lives don't matter.
It really wouldn't be that hard to just address the issue in an honest straightforward way. If it's connected to unemployment somehow, then he would have to do a better job of explaining that connection.
Actually I have already heard him address these issues well, but he has to practice making it a more central part of the program. At least enough to respond to some predictable questions.

(88,117 posts)I'm not getting it. But I pick a candidate most likely to stand for the things that will help this country.
I don't spent a whole forum screaming at him.

(9,086 posts)Millions more are swept up in the racist, classist criminal justice system and their lives are damaged beyond repair.
It's like black lives don't even matter.
They don't have a choice. It's a matter of life or death. Their concerns are not being addressed through the system. That's why people riot and burn down pharmacies and stuff. This is mild in comparison.
#blackLivesMatter really needs a voice in politics. I still hope Bernie can be that voice.

(9,086 posts)They want to make police terror against people of color a central issue of the campaign.
If that's inconvenient for the Sanders campaign, it shouldn't be. If we want people on our team, we then have to represent them and do what they want. I think Bernie can fix this problem immediately by simply doing what the protesters want.
Mostly I think the protest was planned for O'Malley since he is the one with the history of abusive policing policies as mayor of Baltimore.
Bernie got burned a little because he was in the same event.
