DU is feeling like the mud pit at Woodstock

Lately this site seem to have taken a dive into the mud, candidates have been called Whores and Racist. I believe this is counterproductive to the goals that most here want which is keeping the Whitehouse and winning back Congress. Let us get back to the talking about the issues and try to refrain from taking the bait of tearing down others.

We can support or candidate with out needing to tear down another Demercate, after all when the primaries are over we will all have to work hard to defeat the Repulican, we can keep our power dry and maybe hold off shooting each other.

And it's only here on DU btw, I've spend more time elsewhere on actual discussion of issues these days because it's a waste of time trying to do so with people who clearly have an agenda and add nothing to the discussion of actual issues.

is something I can use to show the difference between a candidate with integrity, who doesn't engage in negative campaigning and never has, and the standard inside the beltway nasty, negative rovian tactics the public is so sick of.

Everything has a positive side, so for me, when I see it, I USE it on behalf of my candidate.

I won't feed it by going into those threads, but they can be useful when you are trying to sign people up for your own candidate.

Reading here has put me firmly behind Bernie in response to some very vocal patronizing voices.

But I do think our side has its own rabid voices that don't help much.

Fortunately, it is DU and the outside world turns merrily along. Bernie is a good example of how to behave in competition.

Some folks let it rule everything they think and do. Not that they'd be different people, but it's just fighting among people on a tiny microcosm with little relationship to the real world.

...that kind of negativity takes away from what we are trying to do.

Ignore as much as you can, don't get sucked in, you can't change people and boy do they feel like they won when you try to.
