outright amnesty and citizenship, maybe allowing "alien" spouses and children to become naturalized as a one-time only deal. While republicans would get many more Latino/Latina votes, more registering in their party, I can't see the Body Republican getting behind this idea. They don't want permanent aliens. They don't want a potential 12 million-plus voting block that could just as easily vote for democrats. After all, not all Hispanics are like Marco Rubio.

How much he gains vs how much he loses.

Obama may regret that he boxed Romney in.

that they have to disenfranchise Latino voters to get the ratio "right". If they can either cause Latinos to be turned away at the polls or convince Latinos to stay home in November, they might be able to squeak past the Democrats.

They know that they have to either lie or do something crooked, or both.

lots of crap is going to blow up in Slick Willard's and the republican party's faces before November...I think they finally have enough rope to hang themselves.

9. This situation just BURNS my arse

It just BURNS my arse that the "news cycle" on this was framed "Obama playing politics" because that is what the Rs were screaming like 2 year olds.

THEY have been playing politics on this for a decade and a half now.

This is a real problem that needs solved, but they absolutely refuse to deal in the reality of having 12 million or so illegals - you gotta have a way to have them earn citizenship.

There is no possible way, NONE you can depart that many people.

Fact is, BO spent 3 years deporting more illegals than any other president and the ratio of people crossing borders illegal has slowed to an absolute drip - by far the lowest in modern history.

From the beginning he committed to doing his part to secure the border then work toward developing a plan to work toward citizenship for those who are in the country.

BUT, like everything else, the Rs block all his efforts to do anything to try to defeat his reelection.

20+ years ago, their God, Reagen, signed off on amnesty. Bush had 8 years, and the moral authority of 9-11, to really crack down on the borders, but like everthing else the twit was asleep at the wheel.

They have been playing politics on this ever since Reagen, now that we have a president who has done his end with securing the border and is looking to resolve the rest of it, it is PLAYING POLITICS because these morons have no policy for it and have been playing politics with it, in the face of a demographic shift that would harm their deranged need for power.
