'The possibility of a Biden candidacy has brought renewed focus to one of Mrs. Clinton's challenges. For all the advantages she has in terms of Democratic support, donations and seasoned campaign staff, she struggles to connect with voters in an authentic way. "Joyless" was how one prominent Democratic official who supports Mrs. Clinton -- and would only criticize the campaign without attribution -- described her candidacy.'

(755 posts)Biden will speak about his working class roots from Pennsylvania, Ohio, Michigan and his foreign policy experience. I would welcome Biden's addition to the ticket.

(23,664 posts)Obama had them and so did Bill Clinton.
Ms Clinton plainly lacks all four, and its apparent to everybody.

(23,664 posts)Time will tell whether or not my analysis is . flawed. And there is a lot of time before the presidential election and she does not wear well. She may have bought the Democratic nomination but she will not win a general election.

(13,340 posts)... historically high for a non-incumbent.
It is your opinion than she does not wear well. I actually have the opposite opinion. I think she's better once you hear more from her.
I do think your snark about "buying" the primaries is narrow. There are lots of reasons she is doing well. One big hurdle for Bernie is he's seeking the nomination of party that he views as not quite good enough. He refuses to embrace being a Democrat. For some of us who have worked hard to try and advance the Democratic party, that's a bit of a snub. He really needs to EMBRACE being a Democrat. Though I think it's too late for him to win very many party endorsements in the primaries.
AS to the generals... we shall see. A lot depends upon her opponent. I do believe the GOP has damaged it's brand, and I think HRC will know how to exploit that weakness.

(13,340 posts)He doesn't have the money, organization, or endorsements. He is not really a serious contender so long as Hillary is strong.
What he is, is an insurance policy. If Hillary gets into big trouble somehow over the next month, talking up Joe now positions him to step in if necessary.
I think that about sums it up. Other than that, he doesn't really offer much as an alternative to HRC.
