(10,650 posts)Something is very fishy when only Sanders is being harassed. Is the Clinton campaign behind it? I doubt it and hope not, but in politics you never know. Are the republicans behind it? I think not because Bernie is taking support from Hillary who at this time is still the one they fear.
Best guess: the politically clueless BLM grandstanders are simply attacking the soft target. Hillary and all the republicans all have very strong security at their venues. Sanders so far hasn't had that, so getting to him is easy.

(34,125 posts)but I certainly do not think that this kind of politicking is beyond her.
I believe these people are sincere. They certainly have reason to be out and loud about it.

(30,481 posts)Splintered group and anyone can claim to be a member simply by holding a sign. I have a feeling a few Sanders supporters here, who have railed against the movement, would write BLM on a sign and try to disrupt a Clinton event to "even the score." It has become clear that to many of them here it is about keeping score and not about equality. They have gone scorched earth. That is on clear display every day. Look at the opposition research they did on one of the strongest leaders of progressive immigration reform in the country, Gutierrez.
If one person holding a sign is found to be a Hillary supporter, as are on overwhelming majority of democrats, they will run with the thought that the person got marching orders from Hillary. That is a big part of this offensive attack going on. They have done such a good job at elevating the conversation and Sanders supporters don't think they were smart enough to do it on their own.

(10,650 posts)Sanders supporters have not "railed against the movement". They've railed against the idiotic tactics of BLM and the seeming focus only on Sen. Sanders.
BTW, I am not a Hillary supporter or a Sanders supporter at this time. Both have their plusses and minuses. I am a strong critic of what BLM is doing at campaign events. And I denounce calling progressives "white supremacists".

(30,481 posts)They have currently disrupted two out of three of the most discussed candidates her. Hillary won't be able to control events enough to protect her campaign from them.
I need no more than your first paragraph. For one, it is factually inaccurate. Second, it is you railing against BLM. You can't even hide your hatred for one full sentence.

Truly disgusting comment.

(12,655 posts)and they want to be professional advocates, then they should start acting like it.
bulling and intimidating an old man and senator to get their 15 is not helping anyone, especially themselves.
as for the funding, i would not put it above the kochs. and i would not rule out professional disruptors getting funding where they can.
sorry if that possibility is upsetting

(30,481 posts)I have come to expect the sentiment in the first sentence of your post. It's yours to own, not mine.
restorefreedom
(12,655 posts)that professional advocates should not try and discuss matters calmly instead of bullying and intimidating an old man? (who, btw, has been working for their cause since before they were born)

(11,441 posts)Political dirty tricks are a *thing,* you know, and I wouldn't put it past the Clintons. They WANT this presidency. And Wall Street wants its greedy paws on Social Security. Only a Dem president will be able to do that.

Dems to Win
(2,161 posts)Far more likely to be Koch or Rove paying the disruptors, if anyone is.
This hostility and anger between white and black progressives may well elect a Republican in November 2016. In the short term, it may look like Hillary is being helped to win the nomination, but I think it is making it harder for her to win in November.
A lot of people, black and white, sound so angry and disgusted at each other (on Twitter) that they may just take their balls and go home. Will young BLM activists turn out to vote for a white progressive woman? Will Bernie supporters turn out to vote for anyone, if they feel their preferred candidate has been unfairly tarnished by their 'allies?' Democrats only win if we have large turnout, and this fight makes it less likely, imho.
United We Stand, Divided We Fall. At this time, it appears to me that we are so divided that we will fall in 2016. Hope that changes.
The Republicans have it cross-stitched above their mantles: Divide and Conquer.
