2016 Postmortem
Related: About this forumClinton/Sanders may be the way to go for 2016
people thought O'Malley was playing for VP. but o'malley has gone after clinton much more while SAnders has regularly been complimentary towards clinton and at worst says there is disagreement on some issues.
Sanders knows it will be tough to win the Primary but he seems to be staying in a favorable position with Clinton so he can be considered for vp .
Sanders wont add any additional support in geographic/political terms . but the same was true of Biden.
Howard Dean is a huge supporter of Clinton and being from Vermont he would play a role in all of this.

(1,464 posts)And Hillary isn't going to allow a VP who is more popular and draws bigger crowds than she can now be her VP. If Hillary unfortunately gets the nod, I expect we'll get some dull candidate like Evan Bayh or someone who clearly won't threaten her in any way.

(9,688 posts)She didn't do all that much good for Obama's administration.
I really do load a lot on her and the "third-way" machine that came with her.
His second term is qualitatively superior to his first.
This is it for her.

(14,255 posts)Hillary can never co-opt the enthusiasm for Bernie and use it for her campaign.
That would just be a very obvious and ham-handed attempt to diminish Bernie, diminish the issues, yet try to capitalize on his popularity. Won't happen. What a waste of Bernie that would be!
No, Hillary's VP will be dispassionately chosen to appeal to a demographic and then stay out of the way. Besides, I understand this thing is a lock for her - so the VP is just window dressing. Bernie is not window dressing.

(12,655 posts)first of all, sanders does not go after clinton except on policy because that's who he is and who he's always been, he never makes it personal. Second, if he were to lose the nomination, he would be much more effective as a senator than as a veep in an administration he doesn't agree with. And third, it's moot because he's going to win the nomination.

(50 posts)I'm at Sanders with O'Malley as my second. End of discussion. It would take a frigging miracle for me to /even/ consider Clinton.
