"Bernie Sanders about to PM his way into locking up the Black vote."

Bernie Sanders tweeted Monday that he would meet with prominent Black Lives Matter activist Deray McKesson to discuss his racial justice platform.

“Let’s do it,” Sanders tweeted, saying his staff would set up the meeting.

Sanders’s campaign has previously expressed interest in setting up a face-to-face meeting with Black Lives Matter activists.

“I apologize it took our campaign so long to officially reach out,” Sanders’s African-American outreach director, Marcus Ferrell, said in an email to a group of activists obtained by Buzzfeed Saturday.

I do, however, understand race issues far more than most white middle class women. My son is half Arabic and has a Muslim name. My ex is Muslim. I'm tight with that community, many of whom are African American and all of them lumped into some "jihadi" group by a lot of other white people.

I "get" systemic racism because my child has been subjected to it and, as a parent, nothing effects you more than when something happens to your child.

My husband now of nearly 10 years is a non-practicing Jew... his family is from Poland and DiFi is his distant cousin (kid you not).

I love it when people try to tell me I don't know about racism because I'm white. I have still dealt with it for more than 20 years now.

That because he is black he is above critisizem...to me that is racist to think the black people only see his skin color and not what he does. Most people of any race are not that one dimensional.

After all this has been going on for 6 years with a black president and AG...so either they are powerless or they don't care that much...either way it does not make him the black saint to black people.
But it seems that Hillary supporters think they are.

If someone does something wrong and someone else accuses them of doing something horrible or ridiculous you can dismiss what was done wrong by pointing out how ridiculous it is. And if he is being lied about then it is all a lie.
The solution is dilution.

It is surprising to me how easy it is to play that game...but then critical thinking is no longer taught is schools.

Sanders Campaign Reaches Out To Black Lives Matter Activists: “I Apologize It Took Our Campaign So Long”
In an email to activists obtained by BuzzFeed News, Bernie’s African-American outreach director proposes a formal meeting between the senator and the activists who have disrupted his campaign this summer. Update: On Meet the Press Sunday, Bernie said he did not think his campaign needed to apologize to activists for the delay in reaching out.

But I'd be happy enough to see Bernie split the 'black vote' with Hillary in a ratio according to how each has helped or hurt black voters over the years, and how each would help them should they actually get into the White House.

Oh, and that email is being turned into a 'scandal' over on Daily Kos by staffer Shaun King, who calls it 'Bernie's fake apology', ignoring the fact that it was a personal apology by a staffer, and never an apology by Bernie, and tries to make it sound like Bernie telling Chuck Todd that it wasn't an apology from him is somehow horrible.

It came from a staff member.

Bernie Sanders: No Apology For Black Lives Matter

CHUCK TODD: Buzzfeed has an article out this morning. Headline is this: "Sanders Campaign Reaches Out to Black Lives Matter Activists." Quote, "I apologize it took our campaign so long." Tell me more about it.

BERNIE SANDERS: Well, that was sent out by a staffer, not by me. Look, we are reaching out to all kinds of groups, absolutely.

CHUCK TODD: I understand that but, you said a staffer put it out, but you felt an apology was necessary?

BERNIE SANDERS: No, I don't. I think we're going to be working with all groups. This was sent out without my knowledge.
