If We Don't Hang Together, We Will All Hang Separately: A Really Simple DU Primary Guide

This should not need saying, because we are all Democrats. However, Democrats have been know to get divided and conquered from time to time. Hell, sometimes we even do it to ourselves.

So, here is my handy guide (short and sweet) for how to keep yourself safe from the GOP's number one all time favorite political weapon, Divide and Conquer this primary season:

1. If you catch yourself angrier at another Democrat than a Republican, stop posting and get a life. Literally. Serve meals at a homeless shelter. Volunteer at a Planned Parenthood. Plant a tree. Donate to a worthy charity. Recycle. Turn off the television and read a book to your kids. Meditate. Walk to work instead of driving.

Yes, that's it. One rule. Not too hard, is it?

Remember, the strength of the Democratic Party is in the size of its umbrella. It's a big as the rainbow.

Solidarity!

I still maintain my right to put pressure on certain candidates so that when the champagne is popped next November, there is somethign to counter the pressure that will be placed on them to finally get rid of anything left of Arne Duncan and Lady Rothchild.

the very WORST in the Democratic side are still, even if by half millimeters, better than the best anyone else has. I will not repeat the great failure of 2000 where a bunch of people"voted their conscience" and tried to put in Mr. Ralph "I am supporting Rand Paul in 2016" Nader.

It doesn't matter what else went wrong in Florida. Just a fraction of Nader's votes, if they had gone to Al Gore, would have kept the state's results away from SCOTUS.

We couldn't stop the Rethugs from stealing votes in Florida, but no one forced progressives to desert Al Gore for Nader.

If the Democratic Party were in tune with the people instead of busy with corporate money the election wouldn't have been so close. In any case for reasons I don't understand Gore conceded rather than wait for the count...that isn't Nadirs fault.

You can't blame voters for voting.

You can't blame people for not voting when there isn't anything to vote FOR.

We disagree.

Nadir wasn't the problem.

This was a blatant lie. Gore would have been an infinitely better President, with an environmental , not a war, agenda.

How about calling it like we see it. It's called the truth. We don't vote in Republican primaries...we vote in Democratic ones. Anyone, literally anyone, can call themselves a Democrat and join the party. We need a vetting process choosing who best represents us. When a Democrat is seen supporting many of the same things Republicans do then things need to be corrected. When a candidate hobnobs with the Bush family that is a problem. You can better believe I will talk as loudly as I want when this occurs and not listen to people worried about tone or optics. Telling people to get in line and not diverge is what republicans do...not us. This isn't a PC exercise or some kind of children's game or grade school election. It's about the future of the world so the squeamish need not apply. This is real life. My life. My friends lives. The lives of the abused, poor and alienated. Something needs to be done and serving corporate and military interests is wrong and the reason we are so screwed right now. Speak up I say. The solidarity you talk about should be applied to ALL people and we have been gamed precisely by people exploiting the cultural differences between both parties for their own selfish ends.
