(3,076 posts)Secretary Clinton is the overwhelming favorite among Democrats. The only possible purpose this could serve is to weaken her before the General Election. Its time to squash all this nonsense.

If Biden wants it, I say let him try. If others want Biden to try, I say let them try to convince him.
This isn't a zero-sum game. There's about 80% of people who never participate in primary voting. More candidates might draw out new people, get them to feel committed to participatory democracy. That'd be good for everyone.

(2,256 posts)If he wants to run, let him. The presidency is open to any qualified individual. It's up to the voters if he wins though.

But I bet he'll get all the Webb and Chafee votes.

(2,707 posts)its what people do to avoid making themselves look bad. What would it look like to Obama if he said "no my Veep shouldn't run for prez."
Also, who is this "senior Democrat" cited in your article? Why do all the Biden articles read so cryptically about their sources?
Autumn
(45,120 posts)Obama believes that smartest decision he ever made in politics was selecting Biden to be his VP. That ought to tell you something and that a nasty crack was made about Hillary Earnest said nothing to defend her.

They seem to be encouraging them. Leaking the meeting with Sen. Warren is one clear example.
I am still not convinced, but I am far less skeptical than a week ago.

(20,176 posts)If he suspects/knows Hillary is going to take a coup d'grace, perhaps he thinks he can be a solid fall-back choice for a lot of Clintonites while being more electable because he doesn't carry the baggage of being anathema to the Hillary-hating faction of the base?

(20,006 posts)One possible explanation/CT is that corpoworld is unhappy that Hillary alone along with corpomedia hasn't been enough to marginalize the popular socialist so maybe adding another big bank-friendly candidate will get the job done.

99% of Sanders' supporters aren't budging because we're lined up on issues and helping banks, credit card companies isn't one of them.
