Martin O’Malley: There’s nothing ‘tough’ about Donald Trump

There’s nothing “tough” about Donald Trump’s rhetoric on immigration, Democratic presidential candidate Martin O’Malley said Tuesday.

“I don’t find anything tough about Donald Trump at all,” the former governor of Maryland told MSNBC’s “The Rundown with Jose Diaz-Balart.” “In fact, my parents taught us that this is not strength, this is weakness when you attack and you scapegoat other people and talk less of other human beings, as he has done in such hate-filled ways,” O’Malley said.

Public figures need to push back more against Trump and the language he is using, O’Malley said.

“It’s not funny, it’s not entertaining, and it is unbecoming of the United States of America and the office of president — of the president,” he added.

Trump plays a bully on TV, and he is one in real life. He uses his money and influence to demean and belittle other people. He is similar to Reagan when it comes to talking tough and failing to back it up.

This interview shows that Diaz-Balart is the best anchor on MSNBC. It's too bad he is already on primetime Telemundo, because I'd love to see him take over Lawrence O'Donnell's spot.

And O'Malley continues to show why he deserves a more serious look.
