Seattle Rand Paul rally draws some Bernie supporters. And not as protestors.

How can people be this dumb? Paul's tea-party/libertarian views are light years away from Sanders, the Democratic Socialist.

This seems to be the year when people want someone who is ANGRY -- and they don't care much what s/he is saying.

Hence, the Donald. And Paul/Sanders supporters

Paul supporters in Seattle said they also like independent candidate Bernie Sanders, who has described himself as a Democratic Socialist. To some, both candidates represent change and a break from mainstream party lines.

“Our nation is dramatically polarized, and we’re not listening to either side,” Seattle resident Tim Wright said after Paul’s speech. Wright said he’s following both Sanders’ and Paul’s campaigns.

“Paul has some interesting ideas about creating a consensus about what American values are – ‘What are we as a nation?’” Wright said. “That’s a pretty valuable message."

Don't they know the one and only is the Clinton?

How dare they practice open democracy by thinking differently.!!

of the same message from Bernie. They may seem to think they see it, for the most part it isnt there.

Bernie is of course not a racist, in fact he is the opposite.

Anyway, "Paul" wants to go back to the 50's, so in his world if you are white you are right, everybody else is here to wait on and work for the white man.

For example having a less militaristic foreign policy, with Sanders it's due to disliking war and with Rand Paul it's about being isolationist. Sanders wouldn't try to withdraw from the world stage.

In fact, Hillary was promoted by Third Way as a moderate who expected to pick up Republican votes.

7. Agree. But, both seem to be non-centrist, non-Wall St., so some confuse the two.

I met people like that campaigning for Obama in '08. They also felt excluded by the moderate center, and distrusted the Establishment. But, they're also hardwired by Free Market ideology, so Paul is (was) their guy.

... that a lot would translate that they don't like people just saying what their corporate donors want them to say. That is what is driving Bernie's campaign that is not beholden to corporate donors, and he also to many (inclluding independents and Republicans) he looks to be one of the few that is consistently honest about what he says to all of us, and doesn't need to wait to look t opinion polls to give anyone an answer. He knows where he stands, and people feel like they do too.

Now some of course depict him as being "too far left" for him to win a general election. I think this flies in the face of that notion. People want someone not just spewing out what they interpret as talking points fed to them via campaign donors. That is why the right is also attracted to Trump, who despite his craziness and sucking up to other right wing crap, is his own man since he's funding his own campaign rather than others funding it and telling him what to do.

I think some here at this rally interpret Rand Paul being more like that too as he departs at time from the Republican mainstream with his more libertarian stances. Now Libertarians these days try to make more visible their popular stances on things like standing against wars and spying, against the drug war, etc. that appeals to a lot of young people, who also don't get it that the Libertarians are also against many other things that would help kids like getting them out of college debt, etc. too.

But just because Bernie's more honest messaging of his own views resonates with these voters too, doesn't mean that he's "right wing" in his core messaging. It means that he reaches them on a level that even if it doesn't appeal to them to take up right wing stances that some Republicans might, appeals to them that they like his honesty. And if we can get votes for his attributes in the General Election based on those feelings, that is MORE a reason why we should support Bernie as the nominee.

Our nation is dramatically polarized, and we’re not listening to either side

Mr. Wright mentions the country being polarized, but apparently is unaware or won't acknowledge that Rand Paul is one of the main people responsible for said polarization. Aside from this small handful of issues from the article (such as surveillance) that they just happen to see eye to eye with some of the Left on (no pun intended), all the Paul clan and their supporters have done is rage against this president and essentially drag their party even further away from the center through divisive rhetoric and obstruction.

Some direct that anger to Big Business. Some to Big Government. And a lot blame both.

Makes for confusing politics.

Clue to OP: Jackass votes count as much as non-jackass votes.

So much truth to it. If Paul himself goes into a booth and votes for Hillary it will simply be one more for the person I support.
