(9,086 posts)political party, the Demcoratic party, I'm really not even sure what it means to "become" a Democrat at that point. How do you "become a Democrat"? I just don't even understand what it means to become one. It is like a thing you sign? Sorry I'm probably ignorant.

(19,460 posts)Why would we want someone in our party who has had nothing but scorn for Democrats all of his life? There are links to every bad thing he has ever said about the Democratic Party.

This post is disruptive, hurtful, rude, insensitive, over-the-top, or otherwise inappropriate.
ALERTER'S COMMENTS
The poster this reply is going to commented one hundred percent about Sanders and the party. Not one thing was personal in nature. This reply is one hundred percent about a poster on du. Nothing to do with the op. It is completely about a du member. This type of aggression is getting old. Someone comments directly to an op, their comment is one hundred percent in line with the op, and they are met with a reply that is completely personal and about nothing but a member here. That has never been acceptable and the jury system is supposed to keep these things in check. Thank you for your consideration.
You served on a randomly-selected Jury of DU members which reviewed this post. The review was completed at Fri Sep 11, 2015, 08:10 AM, and the Jury voted 0-7 to LEAVE IT.
Juror #1 voted to LEAVE IT ALONE
Explanation: No explanation given
Juror #2 voted to LEAVE IT ALONE
Explanation: This whole thread is suspect and I wouldn't have posted on it at all. The poster was replying to the overall zeitgeist surrounding the argument the OP puts out.
Juror #3 voted to LEAVE IT ALONE
Explanation: I'm sorry but it's a response to what was said; the argument that the Democratic party shouldn't accept Bernie Sanders if he wins the nomination. El Bryanto
Juror #4 voted to LEAVE IT ALONE
Explanation: Tl;dr
Juror #5 voted to LEAVE IT ALONE
Explanation: No explanation given
Juror #6 voted to LEAVE IT ALONE
Explanation: This is a silly alert.
Juror #7 voted to LEAVE IT ALONE
Explanation: leftofcool hates DU and has moved on from this cesspool as he is so fond of saying when a person states all over the place how much they hate it here I see no reason to hide a post by a member who likes this site that points out their nastiness

(1,810 posts)He is using their resources and I thought he was working to gain access to even more of their resources. If he doesn't want to be a part of the party, the party needs to withhold the sharing of those resources. I thought it was pretty clear he was now a democrat. Am I wrong on that? It's actually a pretty big deal.

(1,810 posts)I'm actually a huge supporter of him joining the party. I think he would be a great addition. Feeling a little foolish as I truly thought he was a democrat in every way at this point. Why are any of his supporters making such a big deal about a debate schedule? The debates should have nothing to do with non-members. If what you are saying is true, I will simply find it laughable that people are claiming any issue with the debate schedule. Seems O'Malley is the only one with a gripe. Sanders really isn't a democrat? I'm feeling a little dumb here. I thought that deal was sealed.

(1,573 posts)...if you click on the "Independent" next to "Bernie Sanders' Political party" it takes you to this page:
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Independent_politician
From that page (boldface added by me):
Independent politician
Not to be confused with Independence Party, Independent Party or America's Independent Party.

(9,956 posts)I asked, here... My question was when... if he wins the Presidency, he will be Sanders (D), not Sanders (I), right? That's what the voters will see in the general election... they will be voting for the Democrat Sanders?
PS: I will happily vote for him, and would appreciate no snide messages from Bernie supporters who think otherwise.

(46,436 posts)Alaska has an independent (formerly Republican) governor and Democratic lieutenant governor, and it's working out fine. In my opinion, we put too much emphasis on party and not enough on policy.

My entrance requirement for "becoming a Democrat" was the super amazing feat of checking a box on a piece of paper and handing it a clerk and I give it roughly equal value as an issue other than the flag that the person in question isn't designating themselves a delusional and quasi - cafeteria theocratic racist by checking the "I am a greedy, cowardly, woman controlling and loathing, hateful, callous, Klan friendly motherfucker" box on the same sheet of paper.
