We've been here before:

Back during the primaries for the 1988 election, Biden had a stump speech in which he paraphrased a speech by Neil Kinnock of the United Kingdom and attributed the paraphrase. One night Biden slipped a gear and forgot the line making the attribution. People who had never heard the stump speech were told over and over that Biden had plagiarized the speech, and Dukakis took the nomination, only to lose the election.

Today, Romney is busy slicing and dicing one of Obama's stump speeches.

The difference today is that the Obama campaign can do an end run around the corporate media and get his message out and show Romney for what he really is.
