The Republican debate took place on CNN Wednesday night at the Ronald Reagan Presidential Library. While the 11 Republican candidates took shots at each other and the Democrats running for office, Sen. Bernie Sanders spent his time on Twitter calling them out on their policies, or lack thereof.
Joining Republican front runner Donald Trump, 10 other presidential hopefuls took the stage on Sept. 15 with millions watching at home. The candidates spoke about the recent deal with Iran, tax policy, and religious freedom, but also spent a lot of time attacking each other, as well as President Obama and Hillary Clinton. As this was going on, the Independent senator from Vermont took to his Twitter account to give his thoughts on what was going on at the Reagan library.
"Can these guys talk about anything other than their desire to go to war? Sanders tweeted, along with the hashtag "#DebateWithBernie." Other tweets on the issue of war included "War, war, war. When do we get to their other major priority: tax breaks for billionaires?" and "Now we're really getting to the Republican talking points. More money for war and confrontation."
On the issue of poverty and low-income Americans, Sanders tweeted, "Have you heard anyone use the word 'poverty' yet? 47.7 million Americans living in poverty. No discussion." Sanders also brought up the minimum wage, "The American people overwhelmingly want to raise the minimum wage to a living wage. Too bad, the Republicans don't."

(70 posts)I also want to note that Bernie is managing his time very successfully - giving himself downtime, and tweeting along with his staffers, enjoying pizza and soda.

I can't wait to see him in one of our debates. But the DWS elites tell me I have to wait, and wait, and wait. I'll remember that, DWS.
