2016 Postmortem

And DWS is emailing me to watch the Republican debates... after presiding over one of the worst electoral disasters of my lifetime in 2014. How long are we going to allow this clown to chair the DNC?

(13,685 posts)There used to be theories around claiming that some Democrats want the Democratic Party to be in second place. Hmmmm

(17,064 posts)Even endorsed her Republican friends, when she couldn't get an ex-republican to run.
BTW, even with people leaving party in droves, Dems still outnumber Reps by over 500,000 registered voters. There's just no good candidates to vote for...party chases them out to clear the way for their 3rd Way candidates.

(10,721 posts)What a great opportunity (is being missed) to demonstrate the sharp contrast, not just between political ideologies but between behaviors and mannerisms and psyches. And, I would hope, the types of questions asked. Tonight, for instance, the Republican candidates were asked what they'd like their Secret Service nickname to be, which led to an exchange between Bush and Trump that was laughably unpresidential.
The Republicans have already had 2 "debates," which equates to massive free advertising, and the first Democratic candidate debate is still a month away?!? Wow.
It's completely outrageous. They are being given free reign to control the narrative. Again.

(21,210 posts)besides Clinton? When will the American people be introduced to the Dem candidates?
What a screw up by our party, the Repubs are getting millions of dollars of free air time.
New Yorker's will not even be allowed to register to vote for a Dem candidate after the first debate.

(9,083 posts)"It's the Republican's TURN to win." As if they were in a school yard waiting to use a swing. DWS has shown she is very friendly with Republicans. She might just feel it's their TURN, and is letting the Democratic primary go to hell.
Only a pretense of a fight. They're really TAKING TURNS.

(16,685 posts)We are responding to the Republicans and giving oxygen to their insane ideas. It's fucking bullshit.

(12,655 posts)we know that Wasserman Schultz is in the tank for Hillary, but where the hell is Obama? How can he stand by and let this dysfunction continue? I tend to be an evidence-based person, and the evidence is starting to lead me to believe that none of these people even want the Democrats to win. It's getting hard to reach any other conclusion. And the only thing I can draw from that is it looks more and more like Bernie is going to be the Democratic nominee, and they would rather just throw it to the Republicans this time than let Bernie get any power. when there is evidence to the contrary, I'll be happy to reassess.

(16,685 posts)They are unanswered in the public discourse because we aren't having any. And instead of talking about our ideas we are responding to theirs. It's the same old failed run against a repub instead of run AS a dem strategy. DWS needs to go YESTERDAY!

(12,081 posts)republicans get done spouting their hatred and then point and say it's either vote for Hillary or get some bat shit crazy Republican who will take your reproductive rights away. What I can't believe is that they can be this arrogant after the 2014 loses.
