WSJ: Goldman’s Blankfein on China, Mergers, Bernie Sanders

Goldman’s Blankfein on China, Mergers, Bernie Sanders

In explaining recent polls showing support for Hillary Clinton has dipped, Mr. Blankfein traced it to Ms. Clinton’s role as the leading “establishment” candidate at a moment when the nation’s mood has turned against institutions. “We’ll see what happens when people’s hands start to shake” next year as voters weigh more seriously the consequences of their decision.

On one of her opponents, Sen. Sanders, Mr. Blankfein joked that Goldman had found its way into the candidate’s talking points. “He says a lot about us,” he said.

“I’m not saying the words he uses sound like the words I would use,” he said. “But the Brooklyn accent sounds most like mine.”
