Dems Demand DNC Chair Set Additional Debates: She Wants HRC to Win so Says NoYesterday, just before the second GOP debate, a group of approximately 100 frustrated voters arrived at the Washington DC headquarters of the Democratic National Convention, bearing a petition with more than 23,000 signatures. The reason: to protest a rule limiting the number of primary debates to just six. By way of contrast, there were a total of 26 Democratic primary debates during the 2008 campaign.
It is not clear just why the DNC has instituted this rule, but a spokeswoman for the Martin OMalley campaign has an idea: Theyre doing this to rig the election for Secretary Clinton.
Representatives from the Sanders campaign were also in attendance. One member of the crowd demanded that Joe Biden (who has not committed to running) be allowed to join the debates.
It almost seems that Wasserman-Schultz is trying to hand the election over to Hillary or the GOP candidate.

(12,655 posts)there is absolutely nothing subtle about this. There's also nothing democratic, fair, or anything resembling reasonable about this either. Wasserman Schultz does not care about this country the democratic process the party or anything other than her own ambitions and her candidate. She doesn't even care if the Dems lose the contest in the general. I really wish the non-Hillary candidates would get together, tell Wasserman Schultz to screw off, and have their own debate. Then Hillary can stay on a stage by herself giving soundbites, which apparently is her strength.
it is disappointing to me that in the midst of all this the president doesn't step in and replace her with someone else. He can see that there's favoritism being shown.

(17,064 posts)...she'd be equally happy if Hillary or a Republican won....a corporatist from either side of the aisle. She'll fight tooth and nail to prevent a progressive from getting elected (the only fighting she'll do). With a socialist in the race, I'm surprised she hasn't put a contract on him.

(14,255 posts)That is why I sent back the last email from her, begging for money, and said no, not any more, take me off your list. And I listed the reasons why. Trashed her mailed survey, too. IMO, loaded questions, I will not be a part of any justification for her actions. And I will not vote for any more DINOs. AND, I get to decide who is a DINO, for my own self. For starters, any member of the New Democrat Coalition (they really really hate us lefties, and love to work with the GOP).
This is, you know, the DNC chair who would not support a Dem candidate in Florida because that candidate was running against her GOP buddies. The DNC is getting pretty rancid.

(12,081 posts)other day from someone who made a donation to Bernie because of Hillary's Super PAC commercial. Well, I just made a donation specifically because of the fact that there have been no debates. Bernie is getting his message out whether the DNC and other Democrats like it or not, and I for one am proud to give Bernie my donation to help him do it.

(11,641 posts)Meanwhile the Democrats have NO debates where they can respond to these GOP attacks, promote their policy plans, and expose the GOP candidates for the frauds they are...
It's just plain sad....
