Rubio will not attend campaign event after emergency plane landing

(CNN) - Sen. Marco Rubio will not attend a Saturday campaign event in Iowa after his plane made an "emergency landing" in Albuquerque, New Mexico, on Sunday, the Florida Republican tweeted.

"Bad news," he wrote. "Replacement plane won't get here in time 2 get us 2 #DesMoines #Iowa for @MittRomney rally. Was looking forward 2 it. We will be back."

In another tweet, he added, "Not one, but two planes I was on today had malfunctions. Second one forced to make emergency landing in New Mexico. I know how to take a hint!"

A spokesman for the Albuquerque International Sunport told CNN that the plane may have had an electrical issue.

Looks like a bad week all around for the Romney campaign.

Today is Saturday. Was his emergency landing here in NM last week? Otherwise, how could he have made an emergency landing tomorrow? I'm feeling confused.

They tend to overheat though, when the passenger section fills up with too much hot air.

No kidding.

Not his tweet. He said it on Saturday, the landing was on Saturday, the event was on Saturday (it's past 6 PM, it's started, over, or cancelled).

Perhaps it started as a second "on Saturday" and some editor thought it should be "on Sunday". Perhaps it was "at Sunport", which is the Albuquerque airport's name but sounds somehow not quite right.
