Obama 2012 Presidential Campaign Wikipedia Entry is Embarrassing

Last edited Mon Jul 30, 2012, 02:18 PM - Edit history (1)

Are there any great, not good, great, Wikipedia members here, ones who are familiar with the rules of Wikipedia?

Obama's 2012 Presidential campaign doesn't even feature his logo.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Barack_Obama_presidential_campaign,_2012

Romney's logo has been uploaded by a user and it features different sizes and quality.

Can someone fix this? It could also use a cleanup.

Romney's entry is much better sadly.

If you're not a Wiki expert, DON'T MESS WITH THE PAGE! We need EXPERTS! Wikipedia has a ton of rules.

An enthusiastic KNR to this OP.

The battle to reclaim OUR democracy is happening on many fronts. Hopefully some of our DUers with the needed talents will pick up the fight there. I look forward to seeing the MISSION ACCOMPLISHED post in this thread.

...and can't be posted without their permission. Not saying they object, but the fact that someone did it for Romney doesn't validate the alternative.

Purpose of use
The image is used to identify the organization Barack Obama presidential campaign, 2008, a subject of public interest. The significance of the logo is to help the reader identify the organization, assure the readers that they have reached the right article containing critical commentary about the organization, and illustrate the organization's intended branding message in a way that words alone could not convey.

Replaceable?
Because it is a logo there is almost certainly no free equivalent. Any substitute that is not a derivative work would fail to convey the meaning intended, would tarnish or misrepresent its image, or would fail its purpose of identification or commentary.

I can't find the Gotham Serif logo that is out there so someone will have to recreate the logo by hand, I think.
