(CBS News) WASHINGTON - A Quinnipiac University/CBS News/New York Times poll released Wednesday in three key swing states shows President Obama leading his Republican rival, especially among female voters.
Traditionally, Democrats do better among women than Republicans, but the gender gap in this poll was remarkable: more than 20 points in Ohio and Pennsylvania.
Pollsters say it's the president's message that's pulling women in.

(70,520 posts)Millions of women have been to or go to planned parenthood for help
a/ their health care ..... trying to take away a woman's right to get access to
contraceptives was a really stupid move on the GOP's part.
The demographics are brutal for Mitt.
Women, Hispanics, the young, African Americans, environmentalists, democrats,
labor, teachers, and so many more are all for Obama the only group* that Mitt has
is white people (mostly old) who don't like "that man" in the White House.
* includes some fundy christians too although some fundies do not like Mormons.

The debates will really shake things up. The more people get to know Mitt, the least they like him and his policies.

(16,986 posts)But we can expect more GOP ads infused with faked concern in the coming months. The RNC ad I've seen running during the Olympics even features a woman looking reproachfully out at the viewer.
Frankly, if it were up to me, I'd be running ads with the following or similar content: "GOP: Remember them? The guys with the vaginal probes? The ones who think eggs are people but don't want your kids to get health care?"
