"Bernie Sanders' Troubling History of Supporting US Military Violence Abroad"

http://www.alternet.org/election-2016/bernie-sanders-troubling-history-supporting-us-military-violence-abroad

"The presidential candidacy of Vermont Senator Bernie Sanders has excited many liberals throughout the country, but there's been very little analysis of his foreign policy positions. This past Sunday Sanders criticized Hillary Clinton for her support of the Iraq war, declaring, “On foreign policy, Hillary Clinton voted for the war in Iraq…Not only I voted against, I helped lead the effort against what I knew would be a disaster." Sanders assertion about Clinton is obviously true, but the difference between the two candidates on war is hardly substantial and his political closet is filled with as many skeletons. Notably he supported NATO's bombing of Yugoslavia in 1999, a stance which caused one of his staffers to resign in protest."

If are truly searching for a war skeptic, support for Russ Feingold's return to the Senate.

Cruz supporters should meet with Bernie supporters. Both extremes are willfully ignoring their own inconsistencies.

shouldn't be surprising if you get the same results.

Both extremes are willfully ignoring their own inconsistencies.

It would only be an inconsistency if Sanders was a pacifist. He isn't.

Believing war is a last resort does not mean never supporting any war.

3. No other candidate has a better record in war.

I think Bernies weakest point is foreign policy which he talks about very little.

But I would trust his judgement his morals and his ethics to make the right decision over any other candidate.

I also dont believe that he would lie to start a war or follow the Bush doctrine of aggression. I believe the other candidates would.

using one example of the military action in Kosovo as a 'troubling history of supporting military violence abroad' compared to Clinton and her support for the No Fly Zone of her husband's in the 1990's, her Iraq Vote in the 2000's, her tenure at State where, and I quote, "We came, we saw, he died", her desire for war in Iran, and now breaking with Obama on a No Fly Zone in Syria while the Russians are involved in air attacks?

Sanders has been very reasoned and prudent with his support for any military action over his political career. Clinton on the other hand is a total hawk with a poor sense of judgement and questionable character.

8. Ah, another repackaging of Bracher's famous "I left Bernie because of Kosovo" letter.

All bright and shiny and looking like a reasonable hit piece from Arria who is batshit insane if he thinks Hillary is less of a warhawk.

In his resignation letter to Sanders, former staffer Jeremy Brecher explained the Clinton administartion's position at the time. "While it has refused to send ground forces into Kosovo, the U.S. has also opposed and continues to oppose all alternatives that would provide immediate protection for the people of Kosovo by putting non-or partially-NATO forces into Kosovo," wrote Brecher, "...The refusal of the U.S. to endorse such proposals strongly supports the hypothesis that the goal of U.S. policy is not to save the Kosovars from ongoing destruction."

Keep digging through Bernie's trash, I'm sure you guys will find some new material eventually.

Yesterday it was Bernie's a gun nut meme, today it's the Bernie's a war hawk and Zionist meme, what's on the agenda for tomorrow?

He hates immigrants or his wife is a criminal?

When Sanders opposes war he's a weak pacifist peacenick.

When he supports troops or a military intervention he believes is necessary, he's a warmonger and a hawk.

Gosh, maybe he's -- gasp -- pragmatic and -- double gasp -- a realist.

11. Bernie may have a political closet that is filled with many skeletons, but the comparisons are stark

Hillary has skeletons enough to embarrass a country worth of graveyards. Bernie's skeletons are a drop in an ocean comparatively.

Even taking Hillary out of the picture, Bernie is still better off than the majority of politicians.
