Those who have been allowed to read (but not take notes on) the secret document report that, like NAFTA, it allows corporations to sue democratically elected governments for loss of profits. This means that a nation's environmental laws, as well as its worker and consumer protections, can, if they interfere with profits, cause that nation to be penalized.
This effectively places corporations over governments.
