Poll: Clinton support falls substantially in Virginia

WaPo: Clinton drops, Trump still the favorite for Virginia voters, poll shows

A Christopher Newport University survey released Monday morning found that if the Democratic primary were held now, Clinton would win with 40 percent of the vote. That’s a substantial drop from the 80 percent who said they’d vote for her in April, which is the last time the Wason Center for Public Policy asked about her.

The numbers are consistent with other polls that show her declining as Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-Vt.) picks up support and Democrats anticipate the possible candidacy of Vice President Biden. Going into the Democrats’ first debate Tuesday night on CNN, Sanders takes 23 percent of the vote, as does Biden.

Officials in both parties have said Virginia is key to their eventual nominee’s path to the White House, and candidates are making regular trips to the state. Trump is planning to be in Richmond on Wednesday night for a rally.

Clinton will hold a rally in Northern Virginia on Oct. 23 with Gov. Terry McAuliffe (D), a close friend and chairman of her 2008 bid for the White House. That same day, Bush will attend a forum at Regent University in Virginia Beach with its founder, television evangelist Pat Robertson.

Nearly half of voters say they’ve given “quite a lot” of thought to the election and 84 percent are following news about the candidates at least “somewhat closely.”

So if HRC beats Sanders by one vote, the two of them walk away with the same number of delegates.

Primaries are not about how many states you win, but about how many delegates you win. Number of states is irrelevant.

Of course, winning more delegates in a state is better than winning fewer.

the cost.

No matter if that cost means a republican WH, Senate and House.

that she had no challengers and that those numbers would change if someone were to run against her. But that fell on deaf ears, she was going to win and there was no one who could challenge her.

Now this is being used to explain her falling numbers? Lol!

Back in June there were so many people that were trumpeting 70-80% numbers like they were chisled into stone tablets and Fed Exed via moses. Those numbers were soft as hell because she was the only candidate running.

This sounds so familiar. 'March 1st is the end for Obama'!

I like that! The certainty, the lack of interest in finding out why Hillary is steadily losing support.

Same as last time.

She could use some more savvy advisers and supporters.

I mean David Brock?

That 'alliance' says so much about the Clintons!
